I was driving my car and the odometer stopped working. It's stuck on 65999.9. I know that the odometer gear lights to break or slide off the shaft. Is there anyone out there that can repair them? Anyone know where to get the odometer gears? Thanks!

Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled
After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.
Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.
We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Have a look at my thread here (3rd post down with pics).......made the repair myself. There are gears available, but they were $30+shipping from the US

You were right dubstar. I took the odometer out and the gear fell off the end of the shaft. There are no cracks in the gear. I mixed up some epoxy and stuck the gear back on. When it is dry i will take your advice and put some JB weld on the end of the shaft to stop it from happening in the future. My cluster is very different from yours however. What year make model did your cluster come out of? I also rest the EGR and OXS lights and I'm debating whether or not to pull the upshift light bulb out. Hate that thing but I like everything working on my car.... Took me only 30 minutes to do this too! If I ever give the car away in the future I want it to have the correct mileage.
