So there has been a bit of talk as of late from the 9n polo guys and the mk4 gti guys about big turbos and engine builds. All this talk has gotten me thinking and I've decided that if im gonna keep this car, i'm gonna enjoy it. I've decided to get a Garret GT2871r, rated at around 400bhp this should keep me and the tire stores happy for quite some time. One kit I've found so far is this...

Pistons are forged so no real need to change them, best option would be get a tfsi crank and get a set of pistons and rods to match
Should see the engine increase to 2-2.1l which should reduce lag times

Got sick of waiting for my dual column pod, kinda wasn't sold on the idea anyway. So I install my A/F guage in the air vent.
I'm pretty happy with the install except i think I did something to the bonnet release cable, it's really loose now

turbo kit and rods ordered!! I need peoples opinions on something though. the kit comes with an up pipe to mate the t25 flanged gt2871r to the stock exhaust manifold (i have the high flow frabkenturbo on there atm). im thinking about getting a custom manifold made up that replaces this setup, do people think it'll be worth getting this done? the k03 flange looks to be quite a bit smaller than a t25 flange. what kinda cost would i be looking at?Comment

What kit did you order, i have been thinking about one of the CTS or PagParts kits
Oh you ordered a Eliminator Kit ?
I think the whole idea of this kit is that it is cheaper because you are using the stock exhaust manifold etc. If you want a different manifold i would suggest you order a proper kitMODS- TOO MANYComment
