Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

The difference that I've noticed is that with al tune the turbo is not on the boost right from the idle, like with some other brands. So, the longevity of the turbocharger and the engine is less affected.
Transporter, are you still doing Viezu tunes?

Pretty impressive. Hate to think what this would cost. They fit an Audi motor in it. Check out some of the acceleration videos on youtube, they will blow you away.

Does anyone know if any of the engine tunes are potentially possible on DSG-equiped vans? I heard that DSG includes something called "Torque Limiter", which might mean some sort of conflict whereby more Nm from the engine tune may not be allowed thru by the DSG? There are places offering a service of removing Torque Limiter. If someone could explain this, would be great.

For the best results & longest life out of the DSG (with stock engine or a "chipped" engine), it's best to do the DSG software. Clutch life is extended enormously, and the torque limiter in the DSG is modified to suit the engine output.

The Oettinger software upgrade is here:

The 132 specific details are here:

Contact Oettinger dealer in Australia. A product is available that will give you 184kw/400NM, turn that Bus into a sports car (almost)

PS: Missed Guy's post above. What he said ..... except you have the TSI not the BiTDI

                  Hi Guy

Do you have a similar software upgrade for the 128KW 6 speed TDI T5? Would that help with the flaring between 2-3 or is that another issue? Can the software be upgraded prior to a decision about which tuning option is taken as the output would be unknown at that stage?

                  Thanks

                  Michael

Auto is the problem for "flaring"you should get the auto serviced but if you do make sure they change the filter inside or you will be sorry later . BUT be warned even a service fluid change etc may not sort out the problem some reports have said that sometimes after servicing they can be worse . The mechatronics can over time get a build up of muck around the valve bodies if you flush it out with new fluid it can some times make it worse !! Take it from me either way there is a risk . We were told by VW that there was a software update to fix the "flaring " but after they serviced ours it we had complete failure 5 kays from the dealer they DID" not" replace the filter only the fluid it then blocked the filter with leftover muck which deprived most of the moving parts with lube and total destruction was the result .$10.000 repair bill only 130.000 kays. Please no need to ask more as this has been chewed over many times before on the forum .
