  • Added my intake spacer today that I picked up off Gav yesterday. Install was pretty straight forward, just a bit time consuming with removing the fuel rail, injectors etc so I could have full access to the manifold itself.

Initial impressions after installation - idle has definitely smoothed out a little bit more which I was hoping for, and it certainly feels as though it has a little bit more pull in the mid range, low and top end power feel much the same.

Overall pretty happy, quite a good "cheap" mod I think. The true test will be at the next HL session to see the difference in intake temps after a few laps verses previously not having one installed.

Yeah I think certainly one of the thicker spacers going around. I didn't really notice a great deal of change with the low down power, only the mid range really but being that we have different turbo setups, the characteristics of the two will play a part in the way they perform anyways. The stock turbo was always torquier down low then my current one where as now mine has a lot more mid and top end pull then the stock turbo.

Certainly appears that way doesn't it! I had planned on getting one for a while, but jumped on the opportunity when a group buy was done last week.

Wasn't so much as a group buy as a box filler to get shipping down. Shall I hit you up I future? I bought some gear from PSITuning.

                      • After a long search trying to find some 312 brakes, I tracked some down locally on a wrecking Audi TT. I'll have to order some new discs and pads early this week so I can install them next weekend but gave them a fresh coat of paint today.

Unfortunate that I found these so soon after putting the DBA T2 discs and Remsa pads on, but figured if anyone wants to replace their front brakes I can pass them on. They've only done 1 x HL session, and only probably 2000kms, so practically new. Any takers?

                              • Quick post for those interested.

Turns out the last set of callipers I got off the Audi TT were 288mm brackets (we can only assume at some point someone had swapped the 312mm's out for whatever reason). Dan (pazuzzu) Is going to put those calipers to use though on the standard sized rotor setup.

Luckily I tracked down a wrecked 4 motion V6 bora so I grabbed the callipers off those which had the correct 312mm brackets. They arrived yesterday and got a chance to test fit them tonight to make sure they sit nicely behind my wheels with clearances, which they do, but its very snug indeed.

Got a couple pics of the before and after fitment. The calipers are off at the moment to be cleaned up and painted, then they will be properly fitted.
