Not much of an update but got onto replacing/fixing a few bits and pieces, mainly all for more reliable running. 4 New coil packs are in (1 of them gave up recently so figured would be a good time to replace all of them for piece of mind. New silicone elbow off the turbo as the stock one was looking squashed and the jubilee clip wasn't holding on as well as I wanted it to. New silicone hosing to all of the TIP outlets. New hosing running to DV and boost gauge, had the clear hose on before which had a super thin side wall. Last but not least, a new earth lead to the battery, old one was to short for the application I needed and appeared to have seen better days.

Heres a pic of the bay as it stands now (#needsmoreblue)
Off to Lakeside on Saturday for some happy laps, will be a good test to see how everything goes.

      Fingers crossed!

Part of the reason I did mine as well Gav. Size is 51-57mm (2"-2.25"). Get one with 100mm long ends minimum, I cut mine down slightly for the turbo end but the other end needs the length to fit nicely.

Yesterdays happy laps session was a success. Great variety of different cars too. The POG pulled strong and felt great down the straight. It quickly showed the level of power in the car now outweighed the quality of the suspension and braking ability. Nothing life threatening, just meant I had to back off a bit earlier then usual due to the additional speed the car was accumulating between corners.

Been searching for some new calipers for the past months but no luck as of yet. If I can't track some down soon I may end up going for a similar setup to Sean's silver car and Rgvlee's setup of DBA T2's and a set of remsa pads. Even remsa pads on the standard rotors on my red polo were a good chunk better then the pads I'm running currently. Also will be getting a set of the offset SuperPro LCA bushes in the near future followed by some coilers hopefully.

All in all it was good to get a gauge of where the car was at, and showed its mechanically sound which was the main outcome I was after for the day.

Thanks to Gav for organising the day and ALE Renda for the photos once again. The full album is on his Facebook page if anyone wants to check them out.

So I went ahead and got the DBA T2 rotors paired with the Remsa pads. I still think down the road I will upgrade to the 312mm setup, especially if a set of calipers pop up between now and when these new rotors wear out. For the price and from what I've heard about this particular combo of rotors and pads, I think they will work well for what I will be using them for.

GSL Rallysport was great to deal with, very straight forward guys. Ordered last week and arrived today after coming from DBA in Sydney. Also got a quote on some LCA bushes from them so they will be on the to-list in the coming weeks.

Thanks mate, so far they already feel loads better.

Unfortunately I think the last HL session was only uploaded onto FB. Both 4020 Media and Ale Renda uploaded a whole heap of photos.

So, after humming and haring over the last few weeks about whether I wanted to go for new wheels and tyres, or coilovers first, it was decided for me when I found a set of Enkei RPF1's for sale on gumtree. Luckily they just happened to be the size I wanted and the offset and stud pattern was also correct for my polo. Next decision was what tyres to get and I was very close to getting the new Bridgestone RE003's until I saw a set of Federal 595 RSR's for sale in Brisbane. The price difference between the two was to big to pass up on the Federals.

They'll be fitted tomorrow, just need to find some new wheel bolts before I can fit them. Very excited to see how they perform in the next happy laps session early next month as these are my first ever half decent tyres I've bought and never bought rims before either (always just used whats been on the car at the time of purchasing it). First time for everything I suppose.

Also have the new brake pads and rotors on, as well as fresh brake fluid in so I'm eager to see how that holds up verses the old gear as well.

Yup, 16x7", +45 offset so may end up running a small spacer if they sit to far in, although my current wheels are the same width and +40 offset and aren't to bad.

The RPF1 + 595RS combo should be a real improvement.
I noticed a huge difference in steering feel just from the RPF01's.

Keen to hear how you find the Federals as Ant had them and I believe he was quite impressed for a road legal tyre.

Those federals Anthony put on the car are the EVO model. Not sure exactly where that fits on the 595 product range.
