Car is looking schmick mate. Bring on lakeside tomorrow!

Thanks Dan. I Went over the car today to make sure everything is nice and secure before tomorrow. Pulled the plasti dip off the mirror covers and front badge, as well as touched up the front brake calipers as they needed to be grinded to fit the RPF1's in my particular offset.
Happy with how its looking now. See ya tomorrow mate!
Another successful day at lakeside yesterday. Had Dan in his polo along side me which was great. The polo performed really well, tyres were a very good investment over my previous cheap ones. I knew they would be an improvement but didn't realise it would be that much of a difference. Had a few of the other VW guys come up and asking what I had done to the car and why they had a polo passing them down the straight
Emm (my partner) did part of the session in the car with me and the rest taking photos of everyone. Here's the links for anyone interested.

Haha! And removed the GTI badges, that adds another 20kw doesn't it? Or does that only apply when putting a Chevvy badge on a Holden?
u know what, there is a secret worth so much horsepowers in modifying Polo that Gavin has not shared in the tech details, it is all in his 'TDI' badge :p

That must be the diesel side of the badge coming out, all that extra torque Nat
Your car was hauling ass mate - sounds like a beast too!

Thanks mate, it certainly felt like it
Could definitely see how much flater your car was handling the corners, and it shows in the pics too. But where I lacked for flatter cornering, I made up with tyre grip. Now it's a race, will you get tyres first, or will I get coilovers?

A slight change in driving style can help with that. Enter corners straighter, so all braking in a straight line, tighter and later turn in to exit the corner straighter. It's a line I'm having to run more as I flogged my front left in one afternoon at the track, plus to help with power down on exit.
It doesn't have to be a huge difference, a body width later on turn on to carousel and hungry will keep you straighter through the corner and on exit which takes some load off the tyre shoulder.

Very true Sean. Corner entry/exit became much more apparent with the new suspension setup - the tyres and brakes were under much more strain and it really showed me their limits. I'll send you a video link so you can give me some advice before 2016 time attack
Small update. After having my old exhaust setup starting to get on my nerves for daily driving needs, I decided to attempt to quieten it down. I removed the centre resonator which was 14" long and replaced it with one 24" long. That alone didn't make much of a difference so I decided to go a much larger rear muffler as well. So next I replaced the 12" x 5" muffler with a 14" x 8" DEA muffler, and what a huge difference that made. Its now a large chunk quieter then what it was and is much nicer for daily driving. Theres pretty much no drone now, highway driving isn't far off the noise a stock polo would produce and when you give it a bootful it has a much cleaner tone to it.
A few guys have asked for a quick clip of what it sounds like so Ive added the link below.
