Mine is also under 'coil pack' recall. Apparently they assess, and change if necessary? I thought they would replace with new units straight away... what sort of test would they do??06 Polo GTI - REVO Stage 2 = 140kw @ wheels.
06 Golf GTI - Bluefin Stage 1 blacked out with ED30 theme, leather, xenon, etc.

if its anything like the Audi "campaign" they check the part number against a list of superseeded parts, if the coil pack fitted to the car not on the list then it will be replaced with the new coilpackAPR V2 | APR Downpipe + custom catback | APR solid mount | FMIC | SEAT intake | BMC filter | FORGE 007DV | KW v1 | WHITELINE RSB

I cant see why they would recall and then not replace, you pretty much need to discect the whole thing to see if its bad. I guess you could do a bench test, but they would only cost a few $ each to produce, so expect mine to be replaced without any issues.

Ive not noticed any issues with the Coilpacks, I'll be asking to keep the dud ones when mine goes in next tues, but don't expect they will let me keep them.

the recall would cover a variety of vehicles and the cars affected are the one built within a certain period, that the manufacturer has identified. For warranty purposes they keep all the parts so when its time for the dealer to claim the money from manufacturer they have proof that the repair was carried out.

Our warranty officer always gets pissed off at me because i throw out the items not realising its a warranty item. he always lectures me about the warranty process APR V2 | APR Downpipe + custom catback | APR solid mount | FMIC | SEAT intake | BMC filter | FORGE 007DV | KW v1 | WHITELINE RSB APR V2 | APR Downpipe + custom catback | APR solid mount | FMIC | SEAT intake | BMC filter | FORGE 007DV | KW v1 | WHITELINE RSB

i think i got the 22 mm one... made a decent improvement to turn in, especially seeing as we dont get a rear sway bar from factory.Originally posted by ml16 View PostThanks. Probably get myself a whiteline RSB first, 24mm?

one thing, though - dont install it with it set on "max" setting - it will snap oversteer on you like a motherfcker... ask me (and 2 bent wheels) how i know....
