Fitted a cat back exhaust on Friday - can't believe i didn't do this earlier!
Car sounds like a jet between 4000RPM & Redline...seems alot quicker and burbles, cracks like a champ
So happy with it and highly recommend this cheap mod to anyone who hasn't had it done - thanks Mettams Mufflers - best 350 clams ever spent on the car (except the chip)
have you done the dump pipe as well? what size did you go and did you use stock cat?
Thanks Piotr
what is this sensor you speak of and what does it do?
i'm pretty sure there is a sensor (temp or emissions) near the cat. From memory cars have thrown codes of they''ve been de-cat'd due to the increaced temp or emission levels.
When they install a cat back exhaust they normally don't replace or touch the cat.
As for me, I installed the dash cubby and the lower honeycomb grills. God the lower middle grill was a pain to take out. The 2 lower ends did not want to slip in properly. Finally got all tucked in and sitting flush. Looks good I must say.
On my way to work, 500m down the road from my house. Stopped in traffic, look into the rear view mirror to see the car hurtling towards me at full speed (at least 40km/h, no braking). Two bangs (front and rear) and four damaged cars later my car is written off. Goodbye Polo.
man, sorry to hear/ see that.
cars are hugely emotive items for everyone on vwwa. i feel your pain. it sucks.
