Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Australia is metric. I have see an indicated 230km/h on mine before I let my ambitions outweigh my abilities.

I'm sure in Australia you may have roads that make you feel safe at high speeds.

The car is very safe, very good downforce at high speeds, the tires hit the fenders in the road undulations, using lowered springs.
And the brakes are there when you need it! The rear will try to slip to the right but totally controllable!

I have the opportunity to accelerate a RS4 and a RS6 above 300km/h.. very impressive..

            • Yesterday made a trip to Bunnings and bought a vent and spray paint to make myself the TT Wheel Arch Vent Mod.

Figured with the constant 30'C temps of late I'd give it a go while I save cash for an FMIC.

What did they do to it when you took it to the dealer?

I complained about it too and they re-gassed it, saying that there was too much gas and they put in the correct amount of 575g. It helped a bit but in 40deg heat it still struggles.

                    • Yeah, I've noticed that the aircon isn't all that cold in mine. It's not bad, but i've been in colder.

Get a windscreen shade. It'll make all the difference -- If the dash is hot, the cold air isn't as cold when it comes through the vents.

                            • Drove Brisbane to Sunshine Coast again today. Got 5.7l/100km average fuel consumption and that was with cruise set to 120 in 100 and 130 in 110 zones ...... (So taking 10km/h overread into consideration just over the limit)

Who said diesels are so fuel efficient .... bet you the trip cost me less than what a TDI would have cost .... and I could ride that petrol turbo power wave every now and then to overtake ....
