Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

What did you do to your Polo today?

  • I set the properly set the height of the MCA dampers yesterday. PITA job. Car up, car down. Roll car around. Measure, adjust repeat. Initially chased my tail a bit until I realised the rears seemed to jack the front left to right. Did the rears first (easier by far) then the fronts. Everything is with a mm of where I want to start tuning now.

Jeezus...I thought the Darkside intercooler was big! That one is massive!

        • 60.5mm thick works great, with the stocker on it i would go for a drive then pop the bonnet and the intake manifold would burn ur hand if you touch it now with the intercooler on it i can drive it hard as in 37c weather then pop the hood and the manifold is stone cold it does its job well

            • Ordered AP suspension kit, trailing arm lock bushes and new strut tops. Hopefully that will solve the "scary on fast corners" and clunking front end for me....

              • After some clown hit my car a few weeks ago and made no effort to leave me a note or let me know what had happened I figured I may aswell go ahead and fix it up. Here's some before and after pics

                • Stupid bonnet is stuck down, pulling the cable does nothing, think it had come off on the bonnet latch end

                  Spent hours and gave up

                      • Cleared the dreaded Airbag light by re-entering the code again with VCDS on the 2004 VW Polo 9n
                        Fault was
                        Code:
01044 - Control Module Incorrectly Coded
                                    35-10 - - - Intermittent
Light hasn't come back on yet, fingers crossed....

                        • Looks good. Where did you source the lights?

Also is that a reverse camera poking through the VW badge?

Cheers, I'm stoked with how they look. Got them from Orange Tuning in Germany and no reverse camera.

Just double check your reverse light and fog light are the right way round. Mine isn't, really need to address that
