Havent tried the R1R, but advans are great. Tread wear rating was just too soft on the R1R's for the street. Good to hear RE002's are up to it....was considering them if I go back to a street tyre. My Dunlops were good but wore ridiculously fast.

Purely because a close friend of mine was wanting mine and wanted to go no further with mods other then what I had done and loves the red. I liked the red but was looking for a white or silver from day one but couldn't find one at the time of buying the red one. I also wanted leather interior but couldn't find it until this one popped up and was at a great price, so I couldn't resist!Originally posted by seangti View PostThose wheel look large, what size? It's stock currently but booked in for its downpipe this Friday followed by the Phase 2 tune on Saturday by Gav. (only ever had phase 1 on the red one so I'm excited to see the difference)
Rims are 17", I agree they do look bigger then that though! Brand new set of Dunlop SP Sport Maxx all round.2006 GTI Polo - Big Turbo Build - Louis19's Build Thread

I got 20k out of the R1Rs on the road, I didn't mind that as I beat up on it a fair bit but they were just slippery, vague tyres from the onset.Originally posted by sambb View PostHavent tried the R1R, but advans are great. RE002 have been good so far with about 5k of road and a track day through them.08 9n3 Polo GTI

I've registered and paid for timeattack at Wakefield for end of March. 😄 hopefully get a couple a local track days in before the trek down. Yet to decide if I'll run semi slicks next year or the Yoko AD08R's, will depend on pricing of the semi's. Yoko's are appealing so I don't need to be changing wheels every few weeks, but love the grip levels of the semi's...Track Car: 06 Polo GTI Red Devil mkII

Sure am Dan! Thats coming soon once the funds have been replenished after xmas haha. Car is running a bit in reserve until then to be safe with this current heat.Originally posted by Paazuzu View PostNice!
Are you upgrading the intercooler as well?
Bought Gavs old springs yesterday seeing as he doesn't need them anymore after going to coilovers. They will go in a few days from now as well as the Powerflex Engine mount

You'll enjoy Waky Sean, it's a safe track where ya can give it heaps all the way around & have a barrel of fun.
P.S. Get the right lines & forget about the times,,, you'll do better.

Thanks Eddy. I'll be trawling the net to best learn the lines and track before heading down. I'll be focused on lines and driving as hard as I can, whatever lap time that results in is what it is. I don't expect to be lapping anywhere near you and James, just out there to try another track. Any tips or vids would be greatOriginally posted by Eddy View PostHoyhoy.

started the springs today, 3 out of 4 done with the final one (front right) being a pain in the ass as Gav warned me about. Excited to see how they feel tomorrow as well as next happy laps. When is the next one?
