Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Have you changed the dampers to match the H&R springs? Anything noticeable with the Powerflex?

cheers, good news on the bushes. Mine are OK, but if doing the coilovers, might do them at the same time.

the B8 is one of my considerations
the other one is KONI FSD
both are pretty good, so hard to choose
read a lot about the B8 here
but don't see FSD being mentioned here quite often
        any comments ?

Really splitting hairs between them. I think Anthony (vwindahouse) was running them which I drove his car, handles fantastic and great ride quality. I went bilstein cos the price difference was minimally more and from my research suggested most appropriate for my application, and that is splitting hairs to. I've always been a skeptic longevity of coil overs and their application for street driving, cheap or otherwise so decided to go with the best of the spring strut combo's. though my skepticism of coil overs has been unfounded so far with the forum members experience. When I had my Subaru, was a totally different story though with lots crapping themselves in 20k.

found another useful site with quite a lot of DIY instructions on our POLOs, not much on power mods though
but it gets handy if you like to muck around with your polo
the site is in Germany, but we have

I find the 31's grip best with closer to 40 on the front, rears can be much lower. Nothing wrong with 36 for most driving

Thanks. After a country run yesterday I agree. will up the fronts to 38 to see how it goes.

FWIW BJTM had the tyres between 37 and 41, all were different...

                              • Yeah, fitters do some odd things. I've heard of them inflating to 45psi all round, and some that were over 10psi off.

                                I check mine pretty frequently.
