Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Personally not a fan of leaving the red accents, but it does make me think that the black boot, roof and bonnet (following the V line) would look cool.

      • ^+1 unfortunately really not a fan of the exposed protection strip around the sides and back and the roof spoiler sorry mate.

However I do like the graphics along the side skirts and think it would look f**king sweet if you added these badges front and rear and covered the protection strips and roof spoiler.

Baha guys settle =) thats why i said its not complete yet, your have to do the strips separate, the whole car will be matte black once complete, Just doing the large panels first then ill wrap the smaller parts after, other wise when you trim you may see red underneath unless you perfectly get the wrap into the corners right.
, once you get to the strips you can over lap by like a mm and you wont see the underneath colour

Roof, bonnet and one whole side of the car is still to go, including the bump strips and the spoiler

                • minor service, oil and filter change and a general once over. Got a clean bill of health and ready for another 12 months of motoring. Discussed lowering, and was shown "Powerflex" suspension bushes. There could be a suspension upgrade including new bushes in Elke's future...

For those in WA Elite Euro in Wangara are highly recommended

                  • Gordon, did you ask at all about getting a (6 hour) trial APR tune? For ****s and giggles? Not sure if these guys do them or not.

Having owned a polo before, 03 model, one of the first things I am going to do is replace all the engine mounts with something more heavy duty. The standard ones all went on my last one over time.

if you are changing all the bushes, just to let you know
it took Philip in Elite Euro a whole day to do them with the lowering spring
                        and the labor....
I should learn to do them my self

                        • IMO, the only bushes you should be changing are the rear control arm bushes to the Seat solid version and ones that are worn with OEM.

Its not too hard to make the ride stiff, I'd start with the coilies and Seat bushes, see if you need the others later.

Thanks for the link and the feedback on the Powerflex and spring instal. :/

Have you changed the dampers to match the H&R springs? Anything noticeable with the Powerflex?
