No worries mate. I'm heading over with my GF for my mates wedding, and then I am catching up with my GF's family, so I will be pretty busy in that regard. If I get some time, I will let you know.

        • Blew a coilpack. Cylinder 1. Sounded like a 'canonised' Suby.

Having not had such an experience like this before, the noise was sickening at first (when it first started to lose itself).

Quick (civilised) drive back to Volkwerke and they had it changed out and replaced in 5 mins.

Everytime there's a show, I have an issue crop up a few days before. Damn glad it happened this morning as opposed to first thing Friday for the trip up to GAD!

              • Got my strut top bearings replaced yesterday, thinking it was the noise in my right front. Found that they were buggered, but it wasn't the cause of the knocking noise. I am thinking that I have a busted coilover or a busted right engine mount... I am pretty over my experiment with the coilovers, so I think I might put a set of lowered springs back in it if the coilover has **** itself... I'm less than halfway into a 2400km trip to the Barossa Valley (in Mildura for the night), and I am completely over the noise it is making... It still sounds like a Sydney cab!!
On a side note though, the rest of the car is running like an absolute champion!!

Does anyone have a set of Cup springs they want to offload on the cheap??

Does HPF happen to stand for Horsepower Factory, aka Amberly Autos?

If so, that would explain why.....

I know the guy who runs it and I only ever recommend you NEVER take your car there unless you want it ruined. Everyone I know that has been on their dyno or had a tune ends up with the car being returned as a heap of crap.

I get an odd knock from my links. You going to replace with factory links or some shortened Whiteline ones? Whiteline are quite expensive little suckers. I had bought Mondeo ones a while back, but must have given them away.

                        • I've run a few different links, had the old Whiteline design, not worth it IMO.

Something with the links on opposing sides is all you need, usually about $30 from ebay.

                          • I drove the Great Ocean Road to Apollo Bay yesterday...

Now I'm pricing up a tax return shopping list for a tune, new brakes, and maybe a FMIC/stage2 depending on funds.

                              • Standard length. I have some short (around 10-15cm ones) that are too short for my setup with the Whiteline FSB kicking around some place if you want them...
