Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled
After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.
Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.
We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Cheesy ain't it?
Got the car back today, ride seems a little better than stock.
Also did the front strut tops and put in poly rings in the rear beam bushes. Haven't really gone crazy yet as the car now needs a wheel alignment.. Do polos toe in or out when lowered?
Then looked at the old shocks and noticed that the bump stops and dust boots were still on the front set! Going to give the merchanic a call in the morning.

I'm a numbty. Did an oil change on the car in preparation for tracking it tomorrow, but over filled the oil so going to have do it again tonight. No enough hours in the day to rehandle stuff. Running the daily polo as the turbo is off the red one, and I'm in need of some track action.Track Car: 06 Polo GTI Red Devil mkII

Over filled by how much Sean? Skinny tube down the dipstick and suck some out? Might take a while with a syringe but cleaner than jacking up the front.

I use this to remove overfilled oil, thru dipstick hole
Briggs & Stratton Oil Removal Kit I/N 3370025 | Bunnings Warehouse
With smaller 2-3mm diam drinking / irrigation clear hose.
It does take a while but as Gavin said, cleaner job.Mitsubishi Pajero Sport - Super Select 2WD/4WD

GavinProbably a 1cm (perhaps more) above the full line on the dipstick on a cold engine after checking it this morning. Checked at a bit over 3lts, than got carried away and drop another 1.5l...
Of the old oil, I pulled 5ltr out, which seems huge as I'm sure I got only like 4l out of the red polo.
As a side note, Supercheap Auto has a sale on, all sorts of stuff on discount.
