Just bought another battery tray from VW and cut it down. As long as you retain the three mounting points it's rigid enough to hold the smaller battery. Then it's just bolted down to that. Looking at getting something custom fabricated to include a fixing point for the CAI and maybe also a catch can.
"Finished" (I'm sure It'll face more changes but it's good for now) my intake.. Nice air straight from the front, and a lot quieter than an open pod.
Looks good, u need to put bolts in the sai mount holes, I know it's hair splitting but looks better IMO . I did just that to Jason's

Nice....what battery did you get...looking at the same thing
Had the little beast (9N) serviced and a Superpro dog-bone bush fitted and new control arm bushes. Feels excellent - no more clunks from the front end and the engine no longer feels like its flopping around during gear changes. Thanks Canberra VW Centre!

Seriously though, what's the reality of getting a mouthful of water in you filter or beyond?? It'll also be sucking up spray from cars in front I'd have thought.

I reckon any water going up there would fall out of the airstream and run back down the pipe. Driving through water that covers it wouldn't be clever but even then I don't think there'd be enough vacuum to suck water all the way into the motor.
Took advantage of a sickie today to fit my newly-arrived Forge 008:
Looks almost stock, definitely stealth. It joins the PD160 and K&N filter as the foundation for an upcoming Custom Code remap. Seems like Phase 1 is going to be enough for me, any advantage in going to Phase 2 with just these mods Gavin?
Do you have any of the exhaust upgraded? Think that's required for stage 2.
Intercooler will be the next big one, although you won't really need it until summer.
