Hi Gav, wise move. Get it outside and see what it looks like from various angles. Cheers AlLast edited by Polo GTEye N9; 23-09-2013, 07:34 PM.

UPS delivery, not bad from Friday in the UK. Props to Ade at PSITuning for getting this gear over here for me.

Baffled?? Built into a new sump but needs some tidying after the welding operations. Might be easiest to go wrinkle on it. Hides imperfections with ease.

Magnetic sump and gearbox plugs.

Give your dog a bone.
Got extras as the last ones I had were popular.
Here we have a yellow road version, 2 purple track and a black series race one for the Squib #becausetrackdon'tvibrateenough
So watch the classifieds for that track one I remove and the other new ones.

Its kinda fun watching the build and all the parts arriving, looking really good Gavin. Now what happens when it's all finished, you will have nothing to do, hahaha

Thanks Chris, tbh, I don't see finished arriving any time soon.Originally posted by Frazza View PostIts kinda fun watching the build and all the parts arriving, looking really good Gavin. Now what happens when it's all finished, you will have nothing to do, hahaha
Just aiming for roadworthy again ATM.

Gav - have you done anything else to the block/head which could aid in performance?
I'm talking water jacket work (keeps motor cooler), head oil flow, etc..
Aside from your bottom end being machined, your build is on-par with what I'm doing with mine (minus pistons).
Great sump too - I wish mine was transverse mounted to make use of the same!!

I haven't Mike, Although I have sprung a radiator leak, which will need addressing one day. I have an 8L radiator in the shed but it's about 10mm too wide. FML.Originally posted by quattro5v View PostGav - have you done anything else to the block/head which could aid in performance?

Mike.
I will run some Water Wetter in it though. I found that works well in the past.
The engine builder told me to trim back the shielding around the oil pump pick up, which about the only undocumented thing I have.

Yes, agreed on the shielding - the restriction is like a bottleneck. Have also been 'told' about flaring the gasket behind the oil filter housing, but that's just a myth at this stage.Originally posted by h100vw View PostThe engine builder told me to trim back the shielding around the oil pump pick up, which about the only undocumented thing I have.SPA Top Mount | GT3076R | 2200cc | Vi-PEC Standalone | Gizzmo EBC | BUILT Bottom End | BUILT Head | Bosch 040 & BIG Plumbing | Plenty of Bolt-Ons | Plenty of CUSTOM work | Plenty of PAIN

Any pictures/thread associated with that?Originally posted by quattro5v View PostYes, agreed on the shielding - the restriction is like a bottleneck. Have also been 'told' about flaring the gasket behind the oil filter housing, but that's just a myth at this stage.

No threads, but have spoken to a few performance 'geeks' who do the same. I'll snap a pic of the one sitting on the motor tonight and show you what was mentioned (hence why I call it a myth at the moment).Originally posted by h100vw View PostAny pictures/thread associated with that?

Mind you, this goes in hand with an external oil pump. I already have mine sitting and waiting for fitment - just got to make some headway on the motor and start putting things back together!SPA Top Mount | GT3076R | 2200cc | Vi-PEC Standalone | Gizzmo EBC | BUILT Bottom End | BUILT Head | Bosch 040 & BIG Plumbing | Plenty of Bolt-Ons | Plenty of CUSTOM work | Plenty of PAIN

Hi Gav, You could maybe get my mate Bruce in Nambour to have a look at the radiator. He could fix it or tell you if it isn't worth fixing.Originally posted by h100vw View PostI haven't Mike, Although I have sprung a radiator leak, which will need addressing one day.
