Just spotted this.. seems to mention your lack of oil and bearing damage issues.. thought it might be of interest.. Forge Motorsport | Alloy Fabrication
"The much loved 1.8T engine .... The key to this reliability is the lubrication system, which can quickly become overwhelmed when cars are driven quickly - or on track - causing oil starvation. Under extreme acceleration, braking or cornering, the oil can momentarily run out of the sump under centrifugal force, causing a temporary starvation through the oil-ways, putting critical bearings and bores at risk of damage. "
I hadn't even considered that...... There's some tight righthanders at Lakeside. Although Anthony has a more "g" chassis than me.
I don't believe my oil level was down and I had no pressure light but I guess it don't take much.

that sump looks like a good piece of kit, nice choice. i'd like to order the forge caps in black mate if thats ok. let me know when you want the cash and i can transfer straight away. i didn't realise they were your mates otherwise i could have probably order a boit more from them. will know for next time though...
I'll fire off the additions and let you know. No luck with the HTC yet. Going to try a factory reset next if there's nowt on the phone you need.
factory reset away mate thanks. In all seriousness I deffo want the water / oil caps and may be the diverter valve if you see any benefit. I think I will wait and do the hoses when I plan to do all the engine bay (water / boost etc), might get a better deal.
Gavin or anyone recommend any of the cheaper intercoolers that PSI sell? Or is the Darkside Seat Sport the best value?
For a MK4 golf 1.8T AGU, APR Stage 1. I love how my car performs on a cool night, but hate it on a warm-hot day.. so intercooler should be my next mod I think.
Also VERY interested if anyone has any cheap 2nd hand intercoolers going?
Sorry for hijacking Gavin..
Dark Grey Mk4 Golf, 1.8T GTI conversion, APR stage 1, stock air intake, FMIC, 3" to 2.5" Exhaust, FK AK Street Coils, Black 18" (Avant Garde M310's ?), tinted tails, ...

Please let the Billet turbo man call me tonight !!!!
A bit of something to keep you serial thread watchers going. Anthony told me about some ceramic paint at Supercheap. $15 later now got blacked out charge pipe.
I have also blown some on the exhaust manifold, no picture.
Got sucked in by the idea of an EGT gauge too, so borrowed Anthony's EGT probe for trial fitting. Had to go to 3 tool shops for the tap
