Redliner needs his car for a while longer so the engine won't be out for another week or so. No big deal for me, with the S3 to get around in.
Anyway, with the engine swap now push back, I thought I'd get on the FMIC install instead. Probably a 2 hour job all up for a second attempt. I did some messing about that I'd not have to repeat on another.
The thing stopping the job getting finished is the mounting of the MAP sensor in the inlet pipe before the throttle body hose.
Here's a few pictures.
tatty old intercooler, flattened fins on the back, from driving with now arch liner I am guessing, probably responsible for the high inlet temps I had.

Bottom hose

Cutting and drilling for the mounting brackets. Easier to access the bolts this way over further dismantling the front end like I did.

Finished job, nearly..

Needs welding in for a permanent solution. Bought the mount from ebay but it comes with screws that are too short. Not a big deal though.
