Thanks Sean!
Scott, as Sean mentioned I have had a step by step approach to all the suspension mods which have all added to a great handling little vehicle which suits my driving style and application down to the ground. I have also played with alignment, toe and tyre pressures as
well to get the end result.
To answer your question regarding the springs matching the shocks, well tbh it's a bias option as I've only driven one other Polo with the
koni spring and koni shock combo other than the stock set up. Only difference I could see was the ride height on the koni/koni set up
was a little higher.
And yes the fronts take a couple of seconds to adjust but you do have to unbolt the rears. That being said there is next to no weight in the polo's rear end as you know, so the rears were set between light to moderate and I've been happy with that and I have never felt the need to adjust in the years I have had them in.
As for the scope, well that's a huge yes to range and change in characteristics. I do a heap of mountain runs and hill climbs on the weekends and during the week normal crappy work commute driving. So during the week the fronts are wound fully off for comfort (when I
remember that is) which will take you very close to the stock set up. Then on the weekends..........well it's a whole other ball game!
It's a different vehicle even wound to half of the maximum. The car feels twice a heavy yet even more nimble somehow (once again remember the whole set up and it's geometry as Sean said) Turn in and feedback are amazing and is totally planted and predictable. To the point where I usually turn off the ESP when having fun.
I know it's very hard to know without driving it (which you're welcome to do if up this way) so all I can say is you will not be disappointed in any way with this set up!
Hope this helps!
Anthony.
