Is there proof to back this up or is this just going back your experiences?
AS for the PGTI, THe highest I hit and kept going on cross country highways was 128.
Adding on, the ambient temp we see here in the Tropical climate is between 26-35 degrees celcius. Averaging at 30.

After this shot on Italian Higwaysmy oil arrived at 105°C, but external temp is not so high now...
OUTLAW
During last summer I saw 115°C sometimes...
I'm almost ready for my report of the last 10.000Km done after oil and breather pipe change, about 1.000Km remain to be done, the dipstick from "A" zone is now 3 dots below the upper knurled zone...

Polo GTI High Oil Usage - Discussion Thread
120 is quite easily achievable, I'd recommend getting the data sheet of the oil manufacturer before relying on here-say on a forumnot having a go guys but as someone once said, oils ain't oils

On our own side of the world, the numbers are similarly low. Not to say it's not happening, it is, just not "at an alarming rate" Well not in Fabias anyway.
So, your worldwide issue is pretty isolated it would seem.
SKODA just achieved the highest customer satisfaction rating over Porsche. SO people are so upset with their SKODA that they gave them the highest rating ever?
And beyond that, you drive a GOLF. So, your knowledge in this area is based on, what exactly?
So, either your statement is an outright troll, or utter nonsense.
I do note you've indulged in a little SKODA bashing or perhaps "humour". Posting memes and jokes are fun, but doesn't add to the veracity of your claims, or your credibility either.
At best, it's just a vague grasp at "Look at me, I know stuff" so common in forums these days
If you have hard cases, figures from SKODA service data, a consumer representative investigation report, or something FACTUAL to add, I would gladly encourage it.

Ever CTHE engine Gti is far better by all accounts in regards to oil consumption.
Also the survey you are referring to is a customer satisfaction based upon service costs, customer service and dealership interaction, nothing to do with the actual reliability of the motor vehicle. I am sure that if they did that survey, NO VAG brand would be anywhere near the top, bar Porsche. To give an idea of what is deemed an acceptable warranty rate in an automotive company, 1% is generally a figure that raises eyebrows.
Yep much higher not just engines but the dsg units also , its a great car no doubt but vw are ignoring this issue, oh yes sir we will give you some free oil..then out of warranty you'll get stung for a engine

My oil usage up until last weekend luckily hasn't been as bad as some of the guys and gals in this forum.
I've done around 23k and have taken it to the dealers 3 times for a top up.
On the weekend I took it up to Olinda on the weekend to train for my 100km Oxfam walk. I know, You must think I'm crazy! There was lot of accelerating and decelerating up the mountain due to the number of cyclists on that road which was sought of annoying. At one stage the oil temp got up to 102-103C!
The next morning as part of my preventative checks I see that the oil level had dropped from say 75% to 20% of the hatched section of the dip stick! Being the weekend with dealers closed I quickly topped it up myself with some full synthetic stuff. Will be monitoring the situation more closely after a heavy drive and would be interesting to see after my road trip to Sydney.
Question about operating oil temps. What are people getting?
Since about a month ago I noticed my operating oil temp on average had increase by about 3-4deg.
I do a lot of freeway driving to and from work and prior to a month ago I was getting 93-94deg and now I'm geting 96-98deg. I know we've been getting quite a few hot days lately but with the relatively cooler weather I'm getting similar figures. On hot days with the occasional "spirited" driving I was getting temps constantly over 100deg. Would long durations at these temperatures degrade the oil?
And would this warrant a mid-interval oil change?

I have seen 105 degrees... pedelling pretty hard. Fabia RS.
Been told by those that run modified versions that 120/130 is common on a track.

Having enjoyed my 1.2TSI Highline for 12 months I'm very seriously considering a trade in to a new GTI (MY2013). This thread and others similar on alternative sites have given me some serious pause for thought. I've got a couple of questions that I hope someone might be able to answer:
1. I've read somewhere that VW has modified the 1.4 132kW engine to help overcome high oil usage. Does anyone know if this is true, and if so, when the new engines started being fitted to cars? If there is a new engine variant, does the engine have a new code that I could check against to make the car I'm thinking of buying has the new engine?
2. Slightly different subject: I know the standard (everything but the GTI) 5-door Polo is built in South Africa. I've read somewhere that the GTI is built in Germany. Can anyone confirm this?
Thanks,
Simon
