Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled
After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.
Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.
We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

The car drives much as it did before with moderate throttle control which will be the give away if moderate throttle control is not used.
......It is however noticeable when the installer of the JB1 puts their sticker on the back windscreen. That's how I was sprung!

Has anyone done any VCDS tweaks yet?
So far I've
- Enabled Traffic Data
- Enabled Sign Recognition (not that fantastic in AUS because our signage standards are terrible)
- Permenantly disabled stop/start
- Enabled needle sweep on startup
If anyone wants to do any of the above and needs some tips then I'd be happy to do up a quick how-to. Obviously a VAG-Com Cable and VCDS is required.MY17 206 R-Line Passat Sedan, Pure White, Sunroof | Spectune STG1 | VWR 600 Intake, TMD, Inlet Elbow | Res Delete

Can the Start/Stop be programmed to be off by default (but you could still switch it on if you want to) instead of disable permenantly?MY13.5 Rising Blue Scirocco R - DSG - Sunroof - sold!

Start/stop is disabled by adjusting the min battery voltage required to go into start/stop (car won't do stop/start if your battery charge is low). So if you set the min voltage to (say) 14V then the battery will never achieve this and so car will never go into start/stop.
Otherwise you have to press the button to deactivate it every time you drive. Start/stop was suspected to have had some part in premature turbo failure in a number of earlier MQB platform cars as hot turbos were stopped (by start/stop) instead of gently running (idle).
