Signed the paperwork on a white wagon with sunroof. Going to miss the sound of the R36 but looking forward to getting behind the wheel of the more modern 206.

I was on the motorway the other day and a black r36 spotted me it had a super loud exhaust. I have to admit I was slightly jealous of the noise it pumped out but I felt better when I pulled away from it a bit

Opti Coat treatment tomorrow. I've heard mixed reviews on most paint protection products. I believe it all comes back to how it's prep'd and applied. Fingers crossed!

Congrats! These wagons really look the part, don't they?!

I've gone mad and decided to go for paint protection, interior protection and window tinting .... at the dealership! As many have pointed out, there's a big markup on these and I would be saving a bundle taking it elsewhere. But, everything will be done when I pick it up and the VW dealership is a 5 minute drive from work. This a huge convenience in terms of time and distance. Anyway, I've gone for the following:

Protektiv silica dioxide based paint protection (interior protection for leather, vinyl and carpet done by the same company)

Cancer council endorsed Dark Knight window film on the front doors and UV clear window film on the rear doors and window.

Got an email from Volkswagen Australia telling me my white 206TSI sedan has been built, but is yet to board a ship. The agony of waiting!

Yeh they tried to sell me all that for $1990 and I just laughed. It can be had for half that at more professional places!

I was torn between Reflex Silver, Tungsten Silver or White! Looking at your Reflex... I can see it would also have been a great choice! She looks awesome. My GTI was Reflex... thought I'd try something different, it's the only reason I didn't get it!

As for paint protection... I figured the factory should have that covered. I got the dealer to include the tint in the purchase price... I wasn't fussy, I just wanted my front windows to match the privacy, the back to have the clear UV block (for the kids) and the sunroof done! Tint brands mean nothing to me!

The other cool things I got included were the hard boot liner (a must!!!), the chrome strip along the bottom of the hatch (to stop bumping if inadvertently opened into something) and the bumper protector (pictured). I recommend them all!

You've got the patience of a saint. I took a demo model because i didn't want to wait. Look forward to seeing the sedan when it arrives!

Lol.....I didn't even let them get the words out to quote me. $895 for Opti Coat. I'll get the 2 front windows tinted too. Just hope it lives up to expectations.

It's the OEM strip (other than the tint, I only had OEM parts fitted). I didn't pay for any of them, they were included in the price. I'd go the OEM parts... just never pay full price for them, that's when they're a rip-off!

And there's the problem. My dealer(s) said he can only do them for full RRP. I've no issue with the quality of the part, just the $200 + for just the strip!
