^ What Miro said. The back seat space in an Amarok is better than that of a Tiguan by far. I have 3 teens and for the 1st time in a while no complaints with either seat width or leg space! Plus the enormous "boot" is a huge bonus.

Stg 2 TDI Amaroks making in excess of 180kw and Stg 1 TSI Amaroks even more than that .....

Weights (in the Dual Cabs) range from 1700kg to 1950kg so fairly light by ute standards ..... and with a tune really quick.

You know I've been through this process - albeit I accepted the space limitations of the CUV category - and there is nothing out there unless your budget stretches a long way further. I actually found the Tig has decent rear room, just poor boot space which didn't cut it for my particular needs but ultimately Mrs Tigger73 might just have to accept a hearse as the best compromise.

An R36 wagon would be nice but not going to happen on 2 fronts - too old and too high fuel consumption. But a V6 high line wagon may just sneak through...

And just like you Dutchy it may just be that I'm bored with my current car and looking to change it for something new. That has crossed my mind too as I've kind run out of mods to do and looking for a new "project".

Stretch to a new V6 Passat Wagon. What a fantastic base to work from to make a hot performance tourer. A couple of years of adding subtle performance and aesthetic mods, and you'd end up with a luxurious, rapid and sexy beast. Yes please.

I think I'll just have to arrange to drive a few cars. There is also the B8 Passat which is due to be released shortly so this may come through at around the right time too. That is if the MQB Tig doesn't come sooner.

            • Plans have changed slightly. Looks like we might keep the Tig for a bit longer.... but will turn into the wife's car. A few bits will come off as I already know she doesn't like the exhaust and the Haldex is a bit of a waste for the school runs too. Anyone interested in either of these bits PM me and I'd happily throw in an intake.

So now we're looking to trade in the Mazda 3 for a new set of wheels....and quite possibly it'll be a diesel.

I did the same with my catback. Removed it and put the stock one back. Such a relief after going back to stock exhaust with a very quiet sound compared to the high flow one. I bet you would be happy after going back to stock. But I haven't given up the idea of building good quality system so I may interested about few more exhaust parts.

                  A5 3.0 TDI?

But seriously... you need something that goes quick. You can't go from a stage 2+ Tig to an average diesel - that's just not cricket!

Sadly the A5/SQ5 is out of my price range.

Clue is 550Nm torque and 8 speed ZF transmission.

Still to test drive but it ticks all of my must have boxes. I would have to almost double my budget to get into something comparable to a stage 2 Tig.

My wife will get the Tig but without the "noisy" bits so going back to a stealth car

You're buying a Maserati Quattroporte? (although the 550Nm is the petrol and you said diesel).

Given price, size etc. I am guessing the Jeep still? But that's now with 570Nm..

                      • Oops yes Jeep GC is 184kW and 570Nm.

Just worried it's not going to fit in the drive as it's quite a lot bigger than the Tig.

Get it in black so you can feel like you're on Masterchef.

If it doesn't squeeze in I might have a house/double garage available soon that will fit it.. with a wash-bay out back.

                            Interesting choice.
I was guessing the jeep too with the 8sp zf transmission.

Seems like everyone who tries a catback modification goes back to stock like i did as well.

It really shows how well placed a modified tig can be when you have to search for a replacement.

The only reason I'm going back to stock is that the Tig will be my wife's daily and she prefers the stock exhaust. I actually like the cat-back with the extra noise

You can still drive it relatively quietly but if you give it a boot you certainly know about it.

Still have to drive the Jeep. I know it's a lot bigger car and won't handle/park like the Tig. Unfortunately there's not a decent mid-size SUV in the right price range.

If I don't do something soon I'll have put too many km on the Tig and wouldn't want to keep it for the wife's car.

So unfortunately MQB Tig is out along with the new mid size Skoda SUV as they won't arrive here for 18-24 months is my guess.

                              • Not sure what the issue is with kilometres. You'd think the engines was going to explode & the wheels fall off once you hit 100k!
