  • Front Sway Bar + ALK installed in Tiguan

I had a Whiteline front sway bar and ALK installed into my Tig the other week (installed the rear bar myself).

Appears to be some fitment issues with the parts for the front bar and ALK. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced anything similar.

There is very little clearance on the lower suspension arm and so the workshop who put the bar on jacked the mounts up 3-4mm by adding some washers under the mounts.

However under hard acceleration the cover for the tailshaft makes contact with the middle of the sway bar...

Not all the parts are ready and time/space constraints have meant things have needed to be prioritised. Sad story of the Tig.

            • Hi guys

The TBE's were meant to be in now but it seems some sort of issue (I'm yet to ascertain what) has meant they haven't come in to stock. We can custom build a run of 3" DP's for the next few weeks, but the final production run will be stock in Mid March - same as the Polo TBE's.

The CAI is being looked at again today before the current Tig owner has to take the car so we'll have DP/CAI and tune available for them, however, the FMIC will need a 3 day window which we only have the car for 1.5 days so there isn't going to be enough time to sort it on this occasion.

              Offer still stands in VIC.

Any 2.0 TSi Tig Owner in VIC who wants a FMIC they'll get it for $999 as a test fit with a FREE tune if they get it to us ASAP so we can finish what we need to finish. Let's hope that helps move things along as pulling a car interstate isn't logistically the best way forward.

Please contact us urgently if you can assist

If only the Manufacturer wasn't in Mexico!
I'm down for the DP (as you know) as long as it gets here by the 27th!
The CAI and other bits can come later.
                  Cheers

LOL Mexico ! Not quite that far away...

Your DP will be here by then - already jigged up

Just the main shipment that's coming slightly later for stock. But we'll have DP's available to custom order.

CAI is en route - I'd like to borrow your Tig and check the fitment if that's cool

                    • Yeah well - sometimes seems like all the sensible ones have moved up here to be with us other Gringos
No probs with having the Tig for a few days when the DP arrives (needs to be retuned as well anyway).
                      Cheers

                      • A couple of photos of the intake. Kit is not quite finished as the filler tube for the washer bottle needs to find a new home, however intake is on and fully functional.

Induction noise is quite noticeable now and diverter valve actually has to operate ocasionally. All good, but something to get used to.

Unfortunately due to time constraints the intercooler didn't get on - still some work for fitting kit here for the Tig.

Hopefully the catback exhaust is in the next shipment along with the (possible) brake kit..... we'll wait and see

Still very interested in the intercooler and the DP.

Really wish we'd known over Xmas as my Tig went back into storage until April in Sydney as I'm overseas. I would have been more than happy to get it down to you.

                              • Initial impressions after the first 24 hours is that I'm loving my new hardware bits and how the car drives.

Actually after the disappointment of finding out the exhaust and FMIC weren't going on I'm actually thinking it's not such a bad thing. This way I get to experience the changes in stages rather than having everything done in one hit.

The 3" DP is marginally louder and has lower pitch at idle. Though once moving the difference is hardly noticeable.

The intake on the other hand has quite a noticeable hiss and induction noise when accelerating particularly at lower low rpm. The diverter valve is working a lot more of the time (I can't remember hearing it before).

Performance-wise the tune has you pressed firmly into the seat when accelerating. Best 0-100 time without launching it is 7.08sec so noticeably quicker than stock.

So launching should see it in the low 6's. Though this is with Viezu performance tune. Motorsport / vrace tune (when released) would definitely put it into the 5's.
