If you thinking OEM and Omanyts, have a look through Clay's build thread. He was running those initially, I know they are heavier than what he currently runs, and don't tell him, but I think they looked better than his current ones ......

        • Just to throw a cat among the pigeons - what about the black rims with slightly lighter shade on wheel arch trims (gunmetal/anthracite)?!
Like the black but this would just break it up a little :p

          • Well after all this I've run the idea up the flagpole with the minister of war and peace and it's a definite no to anything black or shades of grey (anthracite). She reckons I've wrecked the front end by plasti-dipping the chrome horizontal bars on the grill and adding black/grey wheels would add insult to injury.

I think the plasti-dip on the grille looks good so I haven't told her how easy it is to take plasti-dip off

Perhaps I could put on some chrome spinners instead.

So I'm guessing it's got to be alloy finish only - and no I'm not even going to mock up the white Motorsport wheels as that one is never going to happen.

Back to the drawing board. May have to mock up some other options later today.

Yes that is always an option but it's more expensive than swapping wheels as I have to buy the arch extensions too as the Savannahs come in 19x9 if I remember rightly.

I do like the Savannahs. Did you ever put them on your Tig? I'm also just a little concerned about possible rubbing being lowered and going for a wider 19x9 rim.

I ended up buying the OEM Audi RS5 wheels in 19x9 +33 (same spec as savannah wheels) and no issues at all.
To be honest I don't think you need the wheel arch extenders. You can come and have a look at my wheel size and see how far inside the guard they are.

                    • Avdo_, do you have any lowering going on, though? Think i recall Stiffy mentioning some minor rubbing with 19x9, but i think he was extra- lower on coil overs... (?)

I don't think you can go past 19x8.5 ET35 for stance credit that works without arch extensions...

My car is not lowered at all, and when I first fitted my wheels I didn't have wheel arch extenders and the wheels were almost flush (maybe 3mm outside of guards).

I guess with some lowering and some camber, the wheels would be flush

Which is why I am going to be sticking to 19x8 rims. Also I have a set of 245/40R19 tyres ready to go so these wouldn't be the best fit for a 19x9 either.

Yeah ok 19x8.5 but then I'm not sure what OEM options there are in that size.
