The size comparison is probably irrelivant because the OEM is probably tube & the whiteline will be bar/rod therefore they could both be 22mm but have totally different torsional stiffness.
I've had Whiteline on other cars & would just get the X-HD 24mm unit & set it on soft #personal preferencecarandimage The place where Off-Topic is On-Topic
I used to think I was anal-retentive until I started getting involved in car forums

The stock sway bar is light tube. I can imagine it has quite a bit of flex.
I've put the Whiteline 24mm X-HD bars on and they are significantly more substantial. I believe these are a solid bar.

....next mod after Christmas is hopefully going to be a Haldex upgrade. Still trying to figure out whether to get the switching unit or just to go the "basic" controller (same as Ramee).
If there's anyone else interested in getting one there's a group buy happening over here

You can always buy the switch separately later if you feel the need for it.It is shame APR does not give their Bluetooth Mobile data logging and program switch module for Android phones. If they did could be a great addition for my car tablet integration.

Nice figures Tigger!
It is rediculous that just 10 or so years ago that was supercar times and you have it from a little 4-cyl.

Yes it hooks up pretty well using LC. I think there is possibly another 0.1-0.2sec in it with some lower profile tyres and playing with shift points.
I am currently running 245/45R19 and the next set going on are 245/40R19. Change in rolling diameter will go from slightly oversize to slightly under but give me more torque
Also be interesting to see what effect this has on the dyno figures. The guys on the dyno said it will make a difference as it changes the gearing of the car.
Sub 6 second time is still pretty quick today. There's a 1 second saving just by being able to launch it off the line. Plus slick DSG gear changes will beat manual changes every day of the week. All that is down to advancement in electronics and speed of processors/sensors that are available in today's cars.
I'd like to take a bit more credit for it but that time is nothing to do with the driver but more to do with the engineers that have worked to generate the power and then get it to the road in the most efficient way possible.

If you pull up at the lights next to a manual Golf R/Audi S3 you will give them a very good run for their money with a 5.8sec 0-100kph time.
Due to not wanting to kill my clutch, ive only done the 0-100kph dash a few times, but i think it was 5.68sec was my best according to my P3 guage. Could probably go a bit faster if i reduced mechanical sympathy, but im still on my stock clutch, and dont want to push my luck.
Amazing how much of an advantage the DSG gives a car off the mark and through the first few gears.
My mate has a Mk5 GTI thats stage 2 and DSG and off the line we are neck and neck. Once we are up and moving (eg rolling start) then i can pull away, but off the mark the DSG and lighter weight in his GTI make a big difference.
