Where'd you get the wheel arch flares from?

I tracked down the part number from VWVortex website and i was lucky enough my uncle lives in Germany.
Landed it cost me about $550. I think the flares just add to the fat look of the Tig

An update for everyone. Went for these rims in the end - products with 245/40R20 tyres. I tried a wider tyre but it didn't clear the suspension, same with a bigger profile. Without mechanical mods, spacers or similar, I don't think you can fit any bigger.

I like the size, any more pics on how it fits?
How is the ride quality? braking/handling? MPGs? How off is the speedometer?

I'm on the same boat, like the 20" look but don't like the low profile 35 tires have, plus not to mention ride quality, this is my daily driver and for a harsh ride I already have my S2000. plus would like to keep some of the "off road" capabilities (like going through a poodle and not bending the rims, kind of off-road)

Is it me or 19" tires are considerably more expensive than 20" tires? at least that's what i have found, 245/45/19 tires usd $ 172/ea, 245/40/20 usd $145/ea! same brand (Hankook V12)

If it's for a Tiguan you need to be going 245/35/20 not 40 series. Kumho KU31 available in this size at Tempe for around $200 each.

I'm just scared of how harsh the ride would be on a 35 profile... as well of how thin they look on the car...

How bout 255/35/20? wouldn't that look slightly taller than 245/35/20? yet not as much as a 245/40/20?

In my opinion, if you are worried about comfort more than look, you should stick with 18" wheels at the most.
My 19"s look ace in my opinion but the ride is certainly harsher than what you feel in cars with a larger and softer sidewall.

If ride is the main importance to you, then dont go for 20's...

Larger size tyres and ride quality are at opposite ends of the see-saw!

255/35/20 is a spot on match with the stock diameter wheel and tyre combo. But as previously stated if you're worried about comfort don't get 20"s.

I haven't noticed a difference in braking or handling. The ride is ever so slightly harsher but not noticeable most of the time. The speedo now under-reads by 3kmh at 100kmh, so nothing really. Very happy with the result thus far.

I run 245/40/20 just fine, with the correct offset it just clears the front suspension and is only 3% larger than standard diameter.

Personally, this is the smallest profile/width I would ever consider at 20". It just doesn't look right to me with a narrow profile, each to their own I guess.

Tyre standards recomendation is stay within 2% + or - of the standard diameter. 3% will affect the speedo and gearing to some extent but as you say each to their own.
