      • Turns out the Ultraleggera's are around $400 a pop and weigh 9.6kg each so you pay more and they weigh more than the enkei's do....

Bit weird as i though they were the benchmark for light weight wheels.

Maybe ... but not in 19" though!

I know Neuspeed make lightweight wheels also!

But from memory ... not many designs to choose from in our bolt pattern.

          • Advance Tyres in Melbourne just gave me a quote:

$740 for 18" RS4 replica wheels and $1180 for Kumho K31 tyres. All up $1920. Good? Bad?

My dealer quoted me $2200 for the OEM Davenports and $2720 for the New Yorks. Ouch.

That price is pretty good for 18" rep's.
My 19's are going for $1000 but they are painted.

Kumho's are a bit pricy though.
From memory mine were $1000 new for 245/45R19.

And for the record that dealer quote was sans tyres.

Those tyres listed on eBay may have an earlier DOT?

That's a crap deal, I got 18" RS4 reps with KU31s (which may be for sale soon) from tempe for $1500 all up.

Thought so. I vaguely recall seeing someone else say they picked up a package for around $1500, I'm dropping in tomorrow to see if they'll match.

Why are you selling? Going bigger?

Team V how do the new wheels feel? Sounds like the difference is quite noticeable - in what way?

Wheels fit perfectly, shame i couldn't get an ET30 or another 0.5 inch width though as it would have been dead flush then.

Difference is that the car feels more "nimble" or responsive.
Braking feels quicker and harder (almost put my head through the windscreen again)
                              Acceleration is quicker and smoother.
Turning in feels more direct and sterring is a little lighter.

team V thanks for the feedback on your last post re difference with your new wheels, sounds great.

Re where this quote came from (post 231), just clarifying as maybe you were refrerring your wheels rather than question I had re wheels with an offset of 39. As I understand it an offset of ET39, will bring the wheels in, not push them out since its a greater positive offset than the Tigs standard of 32-35. That can be addressed through spacers if needed as far as I understand it, so not necesaarily a problem, but opposite to what you were saying. Maybe you were referrign your wheels with that statement?
