    Hiya Dubs!

Very nice Tig indeed!. Great job with the wheel and spring combo. Really looks great.

You have inspired me again to finally get my springs fitted...

    Enjoy the ride!

Unfortunately I've already committed. But good luck with coming up with the numbers!

However I'd think it'd help if you clarify whether all designs are available under this proposed GB?

If not, then which ones are VMR prepared to make in 20"?

Dubs ... you do realise that your stock struts won't last very long with the aftermarket springs?

Even with 19" wheels and say a 245/45R19 tyre, I'm still a bit paranoid about the firm ride when Mrs & kids are in the car.

Fortunately, when VW decided to delete the Dynaudio option, I put that money instead on the ACC.

Hopefully, the comfort setting will stop the complaining inside the car.

BTW, gave the standard speakers on the Tig a real workout at the motor show. Pretty happy with the quality of the sound!

Yep ... definitely not much to choose from.

Don't know who the hell set the rule that SUV/4x4 wheels only come in a bling bling finish.

If only they could somehow get them to spin by themselves when stationary or from the centre cap, spear head would be released on a press of a button.

Now that would go well with my furry dice!

No group buy intended, this is just to let VMR know that their is enough interest out there to warrant them making 20"s in any design. To be honest I wouldnt care which one of their wheels they made in 20"s i'd get them However, you raise a good point, I'll add that people should nominate their design pics.

          Cheers

This isn't strictly true. It depends on the length of travel of the stock shock and the amount the new springs lower by. With a 35mm lowering on a very long travel shock such as the Tig has you should have no problems at all (also remembering the H&R is a progressive spring). It MAY shorten the life of the shock a little but driving over rough roads consistently would do much more damage than thi level of lowering. I've had mine on for 18000k's now and no signs of any undue wear whatsoever. I think other members have done more k's than this on them and had no issues either.

              Don't think i'd go larger than a 19" tho.

Does anyone know if you can fit 22s on the Tiguan?
                    Is it possible?

                    • it's possible, have a look on Tempe Tyres website they have a Tiguan on 22"s there. The selection of rims in that size are a little, how should I say? Uleh?

True, I've done over 40000 on mine and no signs of dampening problems - and it still outhandles a stock MK6 GTi. And before you delete my post Transporter, I'm not teasing them, just making a comment based on my experience (you could add a couple of RS Meganes to that too).

Having driven both, I'd say they are actually very close..... the fact that you outhandle them has more to do with your diving ability and their lack off .... ... but then again most of the GTI drivers are girls .... if not in gender (70%) then in attitude ....

                          • Umm-ing & ahh-ing... Contemplating & budgeting... I'm most likely to use my Tig for some soft-roading in the future, as well as some tame-ish off-roading too... With that in mind, i probably shouldn't contemplate wheels larger than 18", yeah? Thoughts?
Also, the quality of the stock 16's? I just noticed today that 3 of my wheels have 4 x balancing weights, while 1 has 8! Is that excessive?

If you are planning some off-road trips, i would stick with the 16's or 17's at most due to sidewall height and cost.

And this is exactly the reason to keep your stock wheels when you are upgrading. It allows you to fit the stock wheels on for a long and/or offroad trip and the nice "performance" wheels when you're back home

I can fit my stock wheels in 30mins myself at home if need be for dirt road usage or a long distance trip. The large sidewalls provide extra comfort on long trips and extra protection on dirt roads .....
