And John i know exactly what you mean, previous car had pelican poop and it gave my clearcoat a proper beating.
That is one of the reasons i went with the Nanolex, bird poop and gum tree sap comes off with relative ease now and the pant is still protected.

Due to all the wet weather i haven't really ben giving the car a bootful but it has still performed flawlessly.
The humid heavy air means keeping it in gear a little longer for granny driving.

Had the ABS activate today under v. heavy breaking.
Was good to know how it all works and feels.
Also came up to a stop from 60 or so relatively short thanks to the wonderful big breaks that come from the factory.

Still enjoying blasting through the puddles and spraying water everywhere.

I have had mine lose traction a few times.
It is a very quick lesson in feathering/half throttle during the wet.
The haldex while a good piece or technology will not interpret what is going on and does require some slip to function.

The humid air and the wet roads really keep the car bogged down.
This is the only reason i can find for it as it was documented at the drag day recently.

I keep my eye out for your Tig at Michelton but the only one i ever see is a maroon one at the station.

I figured it would require some slip but was just surprised at how long it slipped for, and for me, the only reason it didn't keep slipping was that I had to change into 2nd....well at least that's what it felt like anyway.

The problem with the Tig is that it is predominantly FWD so when you floor it it will tend to understeer.
This is quite dificult to recover from (since it spins the front in which makes you not want to accelerate) so it is best to just half throttle it when cornering.

In a straight line i am yet to have any wheel spin but i haven't been flooring it in the wet.

I will still keep an eye out for it then.

I can quite easily induce wheelspin .... dry or wet ..... in a straight line ....

You also have to remember that a Tig starts off 50:50 split F:R drive to the wheels. So off the line you can have all 4 wheels spinning. Once you go beyond 10km/h it switches to 90:10 F:R and becomes a FWD unless you're still spinning the wheels at that point. So at 30km/h rolling when you give it a bootful, you will only have front wheels spinning and yes, it takes the Haldex a while to figure out it needs to send more power to the rear.

In the wet you can have wheelspin all the way to the change to 2nd gear and the ESC is seemlingly unable to cope .....

I have also had sidesteps on corners that I had to correct with no help from the ECS ... and no, I don't turn it off on the Tig ....

Interesting, i thought it held the 50:50 split up to 30km/h or while under heavy load.
Maybe i need to read more about it.

Did it on the same stretch of road tonight although nowhere near as much of a bootful but noticed the wheel spin occurred around the 5000-6000rpm mark in 1st....but wasn't that noticeable compared to yesterday given I was only at 1/2-2/3rd throttle.

Interesting that it spins at such a high RPM.

I have only had that happen 2 times so far:
- once i drove over a manhole cover while accelerating and the electronic aid stepped in and limited throttle
- the other time i was driving through an intersection and hit a patch of water which made the same result.

None of these have happened on a normal wet road though.
