Its really a coming home of sorts, because whilst Canberra has been home for 35 years, the family are still in Melbourne and you have to come 'home' to see them and of course the footy

Just wondering if theres a better engine oil or any other stuff that I should put other than the 'standard' oils they use? Or is their engine oil etc pretty good stuff already?
Mine's a diesel.
The engine oil is pretty good and i wouldn't mess around with that one as it has to be to certain specs.
The brake fluid requires dot 4 but there is a few levels above that and even within dot 4 that you can upgrade to.

It should be okay if it's just springs.
What is the offset on them?

35 should be fine as the springs won't push it too far down to rub on the outside.
It's the inside that you want to be worried about but you should be okay with those specs.

It should be fine on springs, i only really hear of issues on coilovers from vortex.

First drive seems fine. Slightly firmer but far from unbearable. So I'm happy so far. He's asked me to bring it back to him in abt 2wks time to let him have a quick check again to make sure that all is good which is assuring. Also was told to best get a wheel alignment again as taking the springs out may throw the alignment slightly. N for the sake of the tyres I'll be booking in an alignment later this week or early next to let it settle in.a little first.
Good tip. I'll do that this wkend.

Another sucessful outing at Lakeside Raceway for Happy Laps.
Had the pleasure of playing with some Focus XR5's and RS's.
They are pretty quick on the straights but I would say the Tig is quicker all around due to AWD.
They were slower through corners which in turn slowed me down when i followed.
The Lotus was there too but i never really saw it so i must have been keeping pace.

The tune is fantastic, it makes the car more driveable, passing is an absolute breeze and to be totally honest driving is just a whole heap of fun. The best money I have ever spent on a car without any doubt. Obviously I would recommend the APR tune to anybody with a Tiguan. In fact, I fail to see why anybody wouldnt want to have the tune and I dont have any link with APR.

So i finally found a shop that sells LED lights for the front map housing.
I tried ordering some Blesk ones as per Aussietig's reccomendation however they never showed up and i had to get a refund which was a bit difficult.
Ordered 4 from these guys based in Australia
Automotive & Marine LED Dashboard Replacement Bulbs
Product
#2260- T10 1x6Chip SMD bulb - White
Nice white crisp light inside now to match the 2 x 6 led rears.

No error codes form any of the LED's i installed.
They did flicker for a few seconds when i insalled them but i didn't have the car on or hte key in the ignition so it was probably drawing a weird amount of power from the battery.
I just turned the car onto accesories nad back off again and it all sorted itself out.
I have 2 of these spare since i had to order 4 to get the order shipped to me and i believe they are the same bulbs as the city lights (parkers) so i will see what i can do to fit them tonight.
