No problems - I'll work it outOriginally posted by Beedub View PostI didn't get the part number, sorry. I can see they have 3 different sizes of mufflers with 3in inlet and outlets but I'm not sure what the dimensions of the muffler are.

It's 4x9 oval offset and 12in long.Originally posted by Entheos View PostNo problems - I'll work it out

Muffler mechanic said he had it for about 3 years on a shelf and was going to install a hot dog res when he remembered the magnaflow.
He claimed the hot dog would sit too low whereas the magna fits just right.

Still haven't got my car but should be picking up an R exhaust Saturday.
So next question -
1) R exhaust with stock resonator valves closed
2) R exhaust with stock resonator valves open
3) R exhaust with resonator delete valves closed
4) R exhaust with resonator delete valves open
5) R exhaust with resonator delete valves switchable
I'm strongly leaning towards 5.
Thoughts?

It really depends how loud you want it.
The Tiguan has a centre muffler at the rear of the stock DP. The Golf R centre muffler is in the catback section.
All the aftermarket DPs are designed for Golf so are just straight pipe after the cat. It depends how f you’re going to install a higher flow DP.
But if you want noise you need to remove both centre mufflers and open the valves. This can be a bit drones especially on cold start so my (personal) preference is to run with valves closed.
If I’m going to go for a run through the hills I’ll open them manually but other than that I’ll keep them closed.

Caught up with Tigger73 over the weekend. Enjoyed checking out his car.
I did a quick exhaust comparison between the 2 cars in the carpark which was windy, not ideal I know.
Hopefully still helpful for those still deciding what they want to do.
I haven't dismantled the valve actuators so cannot open the valves manually so don't have that to compare as well.

Assuming Tigger73 has a 3" DP, do you have one also veew?
