Tried coding the DLA using OBD11 and the ascoding instructions the other day, but I think I tripped up at the “basic settings” and fault clearing stage. I think what needs to happen is to do the basic setting in the module, then acknowledge it, then clear the faults. As it was I was getting errors, so just set all long coding back to what it was before I started.

To be honest I’m not THAT stressed about getting it working though.

Please be noted that it may also need a set of parameters that control DLA light operation.

Still can't understand why its not on by default. Regardless of if their trying to protect the Audi brand. Theres so much more in Audi that will sway potential buyers!
It's on my to do list when I get my hands on the new Vagcom.

    these have the mid-assembly.

maybe a strange issue where wolfies weren't getting the same housing as highlines? although that seems a weird choice, if true, based on where the wolfsburg is positioned in the range.

I have posted a link in many headlight threads which shows the differences in headlight assemblies along with other information on Tiguan electricals.
My 2017 Tig has the “mid” LED lights.

Do you have the image of the ‘mid’ assembly, so those who aren’t sure of their own cars, can compare?

Also, to anyone interested, I went for a drive last night and made a couple of YouTube videos. One showing the DLA in action and the other, shows low beam level, static cornering lights and dynamic cornering lights.

I made a thread this morning if you want to see.

Page 60 of this very thread I think is what you are referring to

Don’t confuse not available with not enabled

Us in little old Australia are a unique market. We disable perfectly fine features- yet leave them physically there, just to keep/make other models and brands their point of difference.

I can’t recall which thread, or which page gives pictures to show the 2 light assemblies, but it is fairly straight forward to find out if your light assembly is dla capable.
From there the tricky part is knowing which features to turn on/off with obd11/vcds- this hasn’t been fully researched to give definite answers of 2016 vs 2017 va 2018 cars and their software and ecm differences.
If you just enable all the known options it often leads to errors. Not enough options does too.

Dla is that, but it has to have the added function of controlling high beam illumination via shutters and the headlight variable angle- on tigs at least.
Some other vag products have multiple leds that can be individually operated to achieve a similar result- I guess that way allows more shapes and faster response.
This is not available on earlier Tiguans and I don't know when the change took place but it must have been in the last 12 months.

    Agreed...

Thanks to those who answered the question. I think I've got it now...
