Mk2 Tiguan VCDS Tweaks

There’s a couple of people on here who seem to know the correct terminologies and principals of the VAG systems, that can hopefully explain my perspective more accurately. I believe some features have to be ‘hard’ (read/write privileges) enabled, before they can be ‘soft’ (what obd11 and vcds do) enabled.

I suspect the dla vs not is to do with that.

For the record, if I try and enable my dla (already comes 100% factory enabled on allspace highlines) the obd11 way, it stops working properly!

Yes would be good if someone could tell us what to do to enable it as its weird that the Allspace gets it with probably the same headlights .

Your ‘expert’ may be self-appointed. The tiguans with DLA don’t have matrix/multi LED headlights. It’s an assortment of mirrors/flappy things setup, combined with active beam assist(the up/down/left/right movements), which control which parts of the road get illuminated.

It’s very possible there are cars with the correct headlights, BUT without the correct options programmed/installed in the relevant computer(s). I don’t mean ‘enabling’ disabled features, like road sign recognition.

I wish we allspace/diesel could have the power/boost meter info display. I enjoy that sort of data.

He is the Foreman at the dealer I bought it off (Hes been there at least 6 years) and I specifically described what I wanted and he said that the headlights we have arent able to do that so I have to take his word , correct or not.

I have had 4 attempts so get it to work and even doing long coding it says NOT SUPPORTED


Perhaps someone with a Rosstech cable will have more success but really are only doing the same thing a different way

Have managed to do or not to do the following

(High Beam assist ) doesnt on the TIguan as we dont have the correct lights to do it.

Ive tried 4 times and a VW expert told me that the headlights arent the ones with the ability to shut off some of the LED's

Also we cant do the pace car turn indicators because we only have single piece turn's on the rears

I have done following

Turned off Stop start
Enabled Speed sign recognition
Enabled L on filling
Turned off nag on Nav
Changed ambient light colours on dash to 10
Changed rear lights to be on with DRL's
Changed rear turns to be on 50% brightness when boot open
Enabled Needle sweep
Enabled pass on left
Enabled traffic information
Changed several warning levels
Raised microphone sensitivity
Cant enable battery level.
Dont have headlight washers

Glad you got it sorted. Changing fusion mode is one of the steps to activate it- I’ve only done things via coding, for each feature I’ve enabled.

Have tried to get speed sign recognition going using the app several times and it hasnt worked

This afternoon while playing I went into Module A5 Front sensors Driver Assistance System/Road sign detection Fusion Mode

Was reading Road sign Fusion

Changed it to the option which is Road sign Detection.. NOW IT WORKS


Seems the App didnt do it properly

I did the voltage change to disable the engine autostop. I will connect up to the car and see what the value is now, and then change it back.

So did I and whatever software they updated didnt change it. Was something to do with parking sensors not working properly on some vehicles

Had my car in for a service today and found they have reset my bypass to the autostop function. Traffic alerts were untouched. Has anyone else had this happen during a service ?

Which bypass did you do. Dealer did a software update on mine last week and it hasnt altered any of the tweaks i did

I assume they do the reset as the faults coming up.

Not a big deal.

You can always mod back to what you like.
