CAn someone tell me is it OK to do these tweaks with the engine idling as battery gavea low warning yesterday and I was halfway through enabling Traffic sign
and had to stop in the middle so now will haeto go back and reverse what I did I guess.

Yes you can. Some OBD changes cannot be done whilst the car is running, the software will tell you if that is the case.

Exact wording of the error is “Dynamic Road Sign Display currently restricted.”

don't remember the exact error, but it's a known issue. only comes up once a couple of minutes after starting the car, but the recognition seems to work OK. I only did it while waiting to pick up my better half at the train station, which is only about a 5 minute drive from home. Will report back after driving around more tomorrow.

i got traffic sign recognition working tonight. It does come up with the error, but no ding which is good.

Which error exactly?
Yes I did forced reboot. But nothing. And I got so many errrors. I had to clear all.

Still works for 2018. Follow instructions and it’s very straightforward.

I’ve done it on my car.

I did but it's still not working TMC stays crossed.
Also not really straightfords as instructions didn't explain how to activate missing RDS screen in Radio settings.



But I will have another go at it.

Hi guys,

Thought I'd start a thread on any VCDS tweaks people have had success with. I assume most of the ones that work for the Mk7 Golf would also work but will be great to know which ones actually do work! Any screenshots, pictures, videos associated with the tweaks would be great! I'll let you guys know which ones work when I get my car and get around to borrowing/buying a cable!

These are the ones I'm keen to do on my Tiguan when it arrives:
1) Deactivation of auto stop/start
2) Memory retention of seat heater setting
3) Deactivation of seat belt reminder
4) Activation of Volkswagen Traffic Message Channel
5) Driving school mode
6) Air-conditioning recirculation memory setting

- This tweak is helpful on the freeway when you are not in the right lane and approach a slower car driving in the right lane.
Usually the car slows to the other cars speed (annoying if the car in the right lane travelling at 100km/hr in a 110km/hr zone) and does not proceed past them.
Deactivating this setting allows you to continue at your predetermined cruise control speed and pass the car in the right hand lane.

Gave up on the dynamic light assist and just enabled high beam assist. Coding the dynamic light assist just gave me errors in the dynamic cornering lights and I quite like them so didn’t want to have them not working.

I was having the same error, resetting lights and clearing errors, and with a failing battery, I gave it one more try, and DLA installed.
