  • Those tyres are pretty grippy, problem with VWs they don't run proper mechanical differentials so you're not putting down torque equally.

A set of 235 section RE003 on an AWD EVO Lancer with a proper front diff will hook up 350kW at all fours (good comparison as it's front bias too).

    • New tune file loaded on this morning and we logged the boost vs rpm just to check the turbo response.

Really happy with how the TTE475 spools up (which is one of the main reasons I chose to go with this turbo):

Now to get the fuel pump installed and turn it up! Currently running 20psi and will aim for around 26psi once it's dyno tuned.

Nice one! On the graph it looks like the turbo is hitting 2.25 Bar isn’t that almost 33 PSI? Can’t wait for the full tune!

The values for boost that are recorded in the ECU (and on VCDS) are absolute pressure so you have to take 14.7psi off the value to get the amount of boost above atmospheric pressure (gauge pressure) which is what people usually look at.

          Maximum boost value was 2.35bara = 1.35barg (or 19.6psig)

Cool, thank makes sense! Do you have the performance monitor in your Tig with the digital boost gauge?

Yes I do but to be honest the only thing I look at is oil temps. The power and boost figures are only really for the passenger to look at. I'm not in the habit of taking my eyes off the road when I'm at full boost

I guess if you're running it on the dyno that's a bit of a different story.

If you drive in D it can be a bit "doughy" down low but that is to be expected. I imagine that with the DSG remap this will get fixed up.

One of the biggest changes has been the 034 dogbone insert. On start-up there is quite a heavy thunk from the engine bay, however take-off from stationary feels a lot more direct transfer of power to the wheels.

Car is booked in Tuesday/Wednesday next week so hopefully the HPFP tool is in and the car can get tuned on the dyno.
When coming off stop/start you will get the thunk also sometimes if your foot is slightly off the brake.

Stop/start has been disabled via VCDS.... so it’s only on startup.

                    • Pretty good effort, however don't be confused at the torque value. It's not showing the correct torque as there's no RPM, without RPM you cannot get the right torque value.

MPH confirms power is about right too!

(Also that's the dyno I sometimes use too haha)

What was the skyline putting out on that dyno? Are mainline dynos similar to mustang dynos ?

                        • Keen eye, yes it's a RB25DET NEO swapped S13 Silvia.

It's a drift pig, so only just 550cc injectors, a Hypergear Highflow on 98RON and out down 243kW. Needs a stronger actuator for turbo as the internal wastegate blows open up top and it's not holding boost. Squeezed in 1.4bar but it bleeds down to 1.3bar (not absolute pressure, that would be 2.3bar). Still shreds tyres like a machine.

                          • I've never used a Mustang dyno, but generally Mainline dynos read a bit lower than a Dyno Dynamics.

                            • I was hoping to see closer to 300kw@4 wheels from the R and it in the 10's.. Friends Mk6 R made 330kw@4 wheels with a GT3042 and built engine. ANother Mk6 R I knew did a 10.6 1/4.

Dont know why they didnt go with a custom tune initially instead of a Revo flash tune with all thos modifications.
