I have the VWR Intake hose, Turbo Inlet amd Turbo Muffler delete. No charge pipes or anything like that.
How’s the drive, traction and power delivery after a week of driving? Have you had a chance to do a launch yet with LC? I’m getting lots of wheels spin.....I could imagine you’d be struggling a bit also. I added a pendulum mount which firmed it up some more, the next step is for better tyres...also after 20k km and many launches those stock tyres are getting a bit bald...
VW Tiguan 162 TSI Highline w/ R-Line & DAP. The drive, in my opinion, is nicer than stage 2 is20. The is20 hit full boost at 2k RPM and that made it a bit touchy to drive. It's now a lot more docile under 3k RPM making it very nice to daily. Launch controlled it once at the 3k RPM, slight wheel spin but it puts it down just so well. I don't really drive it in sport too much but i believe that would make traction much more interesting. At 30k km and I was told my Contis should last until 45k km, I will then be moving to Michelin P4S.
Anything more than around 250kw@4 wheels as a daily driver in a 2L is not going to be a nice daily.
My R33 Skyline with 335kw@wheels was a pig as a daily....
Probably had old tech, my prev setup made 372kW and was all in by 3800rpm in 3rd. Billet compressor wheels help quite a bit, new setup in the R33 sietbok should make well over 420kW (waiting for fabricators) and I'm aiming all in by 4200rpm at most, with positive manifold pressure by 2500rpm.
Manual car so just keep the RPM higher haha.
DSG is a bit harder as you get off the line at pretty much idle, unless you abuse LC

GT30 with 0.86 rear and 0.76 front, Power FC and Greddy Profec B, full boost by 4300rpm, this was back in 2002 so tech at the time.. Found some old pictures..

That’s a pretty nice and clean engine bay! It would have been a beast back in the day.
Have you been looking for a dbv2 or an rs3?

Must have cost you a bomb back then too! Z32 and PowerFC!
Funny how things don't change lol, nek minnit there's a Borg Warner EFR7163 on the side of your motor
It al did, custom made turbo manifold and dump pipe setup also, was not much off the shelf around those days. Was waiting for the engine to go bang before I rebuilt it but it never did, I was using a 50% 108 octane mix when tracking it ($8 a litre). Got married and built first house so didnt happen...Car sat in the garage for nearly 1 year unused before I ended up selling it to some 19 year old...
Torque curve looks interesting, fair gain with IS38. Interested to see some performance numbers. With the TCU flash, it’s actually a DQ500 Bosch that’s in the Tigs not the DQ381, however both use the same TEMIC chipset.

Agreed nice to see some real world numbers not just brochure “claimed” figures.
Stock figures for the 162TSI is 135-140kwaw which I’ve verified (mine ran 141 on another dyno).
There’s some decent gains from going IS38. Not sure I’d call this stage 3 - more like stage 2.5 perhaps.
Interested on what turbo/mods you are looking at to achieve those numbers?
That’s where I’m hoping to be, however I’m looking for a nice daily driver not just a peak number on the dyno.

Few options i am looking at.
Same not after a dyno queen, 250 is a nice round number to aim for.. My other cars have had similar numbers at one stage of their mods, felt like it was just right for the street...

Really want to see what your makes.. Ever considered trying a custom tune now that you have run in the IS38?
