I would personally spend timing look at torque vs RPM.
Use that as a way of determining how a car should drive, don't be fixated over MAP vs. RPM.
You can easily get a turbo on earlier but produce low torque and when you compare that to a setup that might make a bit less boost at a specific RPM however making more torque, the one that makes less boost and more torque would be so much nicer to drive.
Hence I keep emphasising to many not to be so fixated by positive pressure by X rpm, there are so many different strategies these days to get boost earlier, e.g. cam timing, low ignition timing, lean spool, etc.
