Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • After a last minute spot opened up. My Tiguan is done. 254kw atw. Happy with the result.

293kw was our best run but it was much too aggressive for a daily driver. Only driven it home and done 1, 2nd gear pull. I think the lag of an is38 makes it more pleasant to drove compare to stage 2 is20.

I'll be sure to share some mpre feedback whem I've actually spent some more time with the car.

    • Great work!

Looking forward to your feedback. Also keen to see if you can get the overlay with the stock and stage 2 results for comparison with power/torque curves.

Awesome work mate! Any pics of the install or dyno video pulls, you can share? 250 kw atw is very beasty, 290 kw atw would be crazy!

Did you do a DSG/TCU tune? If you are stock how does it feel, are shifts smooth? I highly recommend a DSG tune to hold the revs/gears and make driving more pleasurable.

After you run in your turbo, it would be interesting to get some performance times 0-100, 1/4 mile....

Well done! I’ll update the front page. Keep us posted on your thoughts, a review might be in order over the next few weeks.

Sweet... What boost for 254 and 290 runs? Got rpm vs power graph? Plugs / coils using? Installed a dogbone insert?

Redline is a custom tuner, not sure of the tuning tools/platform they use.

Seems Tristan is too busy driving to reply but 254kW file was 27psi with peak at 28.

The 291kw was a fair way north of 30psi... [emoji15]

What do you think of the dogbone insert?

I’ve just got an 034 one and will get this installed along with everything else.

Everything feels a lot more firm. Minor NVH at idle. You can feel the engine more in the Mid-high RPMs.

Did you do turbo inlet also? Have you changed any of the other piping apart from the intercooler piping ?

Would be great to get some stats to compare, like 0-100kmhr and 1/4 mile....do you have access to a vbox, gtech or dragy ?

                          • Would be interested to see what a better tuner could get from it.

I have the VWR Intake hose, Turbo Inlet amd Turbo Muffler delete. No charge pipes or anything like that.

I guess you'll have to wait for Damien and his TTE475 because I'm more than happy with my tune. I do anticipate that the TTE475 will more than my L450.

Cool, glad you're happy with it.

If you get an opportunity, for peace of mind I'd be getting another custom tuner experienced with VAG cars to run it up on the dyno and have a look at the tune, seriously. Might save you some $ later on.
