Maps update

I have been unable to install the current v2 maps due to CRC errors in the archive so I wrote an email to VW Germany. They have since responded and told me to try again. Last night I was able to download/extract and install the current v2 maps.

So it's working? 24GB is a lot to download only for it to be corrupt again.

WOW!!! I must be one of the three people in Australia where NBN actually works. Took me about 90mins to download.

Can confirm I also did a good download. Also extracted the complete download to a single 64GB SD card and installed into the 2018 Golf GTi and the update took about 1hr. Given I collected the car this week would have expected the dealer to do the update as part of the pre-delivery. But that would just be me expecting better service.

I am in Perth if anyone want a direct copy.

Also confirming the new download worked. Took about 2 hours to download, and almost an hour to copy from SD card to internal hard drive.

Bit stupid that VW doesn't just let you download one country in particular.

Also cool that once the maps are uploaded you no longer need to keep the SD card plugged in.

I'll keep an eye out and see if TMC is still working.

Download worked fine. Took 3 hours.
I put it onto an SD card from my MacBook, and at first it said the file format was wrong (was FAT32) so I reformatted the SD to FATex, and after 45 mins the transfer was complete.

BUT...plugged it into the car, and the car said no media found.

Can anyone advise what disk formats are acceptable for the VW?

Pretty sure the headunit only reads FAT or NTFS. check the manual to be sure.

BTW confirmed TMC is still working on mine too!

My SD card, which was formatted by the discover care application, is using FAT32 filesystem.
