I think my mk7 gti has the low washer fluid warning light.... Can't be 100% on that though.

Hi,

Recently I found out that there is no warning light for low windscreen washer liquid. Could you please owners of 7.5 Golf confirm that is the case? The warning light is a safety thing and I was suprised VW cut costs and did not add this to the latest Golf.

How is it a safety thing? No warning light on mine, but it’s pretty easy to tell that it’s run out lol

What? Even the base i30s at work complain about low washer.

Speaking of work cars. If you share a pool car the warning is very helpful. Shared cars are not always clean and if you get caught in light drizzle the last thing you want is a smeared windscreen you can't clean.

At home though. I never let me car get that dirty or let the washer fluid get that low. :p

Hi all, I noticed that my 110tsi 7spd DSG golf has extreme clutch slip in sport mode from a standing start in first gear only. I'm unsure if this is normal behaviour due to being in sports mode however I don't notice any clutch slip in normal mode.

Has anyone experienced this?

Yes, I have the same car and the same problem. I don't drive it in sport just because of it. I blame the non-performance Golfs' ECU mapping to protect their inferior dry DSGs as I never heard this problem from GTI or R drivers. I could be completely wrong though.

How is it a safety issue? You can see with your own eyes that the screen is dirty and when you pull the stalk no water comes out. part of owning a car is to ensure fluid levels are correct. Seriously..are people so dumb now they have to have a warning light. Pretty sure everyone survived without a warning light for over a hundred years of motoring.

i noticed that in my 110tsi as well. thought it was very weird that 1st gear was so sluggish to take off in sports mode. I might raise it with my dealer.

i think it is by design. the only reason it is noticed in S mode is because it holds the gears for longer. In D mode it changes very quickly from 1st to 2nd... even going all the way to 4-5th when travelling 50kmh! I think because the 110TSI is fitted with the 7spd DQ200 transmission, they are using software to minimize wear as they were plagued with problems with the DQ200 on earlier MK6-7 golfs, which even had a voluntary recall to update software on the mechatronics... My car is new and under 5yrs warranty, so i am going to monitor it for now.

High Beam Assist (HBA)
HBA remember on start
Undertaking (car will not slow down when ACC is enabled and it displays a car in the right lane, which really annoyed me!)
Fan speed display on Auto (for climatronic equipped cars)
Disclaimer warning removal from infotainment
TMC (Traffic info on NAV)
Lock/Unlock chirp (chirp if alarm is fitted, otherwise horn)
Change Active Info Display to Golf R version (with dancing dots )

Have not attempted Traffic Sign recognition as i didn't think it was warranted. Cheers

I have a 162TSI Tiguan as well and with Tiguan difference between normal mode and sport mode is like day and night. It's so much fun to drive in sport mode. With Golf the difference is minimal and sport mode is still sluggish. You find yourself in gear S5 at 50km/h, which is a joke!

I find that S-mode is fine after the sluggish 1st to 2nd. it generally holds S4 up to about 80kmh. Its only D-mode which seems to be in D5 at 50kmh!

Its good that you are happy with it. I guess because I was used to driving the Tiguan my benchmark is high. Try changing to S mode when it’s already in D5 it stays in S5.

I wouldn't say i'm happy with it! lol.. but i'm not upset over it. Would've preferred they used a better DSG unit instead of using software to limit issues/damage. Maybe i should've just got the 110TDI highline? haha

I was happy to buy TDI or GTI but they didn't offer them with 1.8% finance and I bought the highest model offered with 1.8%, which was the fully loaded comfortline.
