Golf GTi LED driving lights
Hi All,
I live and work on the outer skirts of Melbourne, where by commuting from home includes travelling on unlit semi rural roads at night/ early morning etc (always changing as I work shift work). So this makes wildlife a serious hazard, from small mammals up to some Deer and I dread the day it involves cattle or a horse that has escaped its paddock.
Anyway I own a Polo GTi and my partner owns a Gold GTi both still under VW warranty. The lighting (mainly high beam) on both these cars is woefully inadequate!!! The company vehicles that I drive have driving lights fitted, which are excellent.
I am interested in fitting one of these Narva LED driving light bars; L.E.D Driving Lamp Bars - Products - Narva which from what I have discovered have a 'plug and play' / easy fitment; Narva's L.E.D Driving Light Bars Set New Benchmark - Narva
Narva Driving Light Harness - 12 Volt - Supercheap Auto Australia
Keeping in mind that both cars are still under warranty, I cannot find any instructions online on how to install these bars. Are they relatively simple or is it best for an auto electrician to do it ?
Also is there anyway the VW dealer would install these for me. I know that they wouldn't provide a warranty on the installation but is this an option?
Thanks
ps Its been posted in both as it affects both my polo and partners golf.

I'm also interested to find out more about this.
Just came back from the snowy mountains where there is an abundance of wildlife, but I thought my high beams would be enough. While I was at the ski tube carpark I did see a mk7 R with a led bar fitted to Thule racks which actually looked quite good with skis atop. So I made sure I stuck behind him on the trip back!Delivered Tomorrow:

Just received a rear bumper protection strip in the mail from Germany... roughly $24, looks like it should be easy enough to install.

Spot the protection strip...
You can only really see the edge...

VW don't even do this for the RHD cars that go to the UK. I wouldn't bother. The solution would have to be customised with rewiring, would cost heaps and you barely use the mode and stop/start buttons anyway. Also having a DSG makes it slightly easier to put up with (still obviously annoying!)MY14 MK VII GTI | Pure White | Manual | Bi-Xenons (his)

I push the Stop/Start and Traction Control buttons every time I get in the car and use the Mode button pretty often too. I would love to have them on the other side. No doubt it could be done, but you may end up with functional buttons with no labels - very James Bond-ish!

If you can find a left handed wrench I believe its possible.
As for the engineering aspect it has the same annoyance factor to me as the indicator stalk being on the wrong side, I guess you adjust.

I use these buttons everyday. It's very frustrating. And when the shifter is pulled into the drive position you actually have to look around the shifter to get your eyes on the buttons, it would make a tonne more sense for these to be on the drivers side. The Stop/Start button especially since I push that every single time I push the start button.Originally posted by Jimi View PostVW don't even do this for the RHD cars that go to the UK.
