Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

            • I have these. VW GOLF Mk7 2013 to 2017- BLACK RUBBER 3D Car Mats | eBay
They aint cheap, but great quality with a bucket style design to keep the muck in the mat.
They clip onto the existing retaining clips.

                  • I'm considering this if I don't do the dynaudio retrofit path:

Plug and Play sound system < Infotainment < Products < Volkswagen Accessories

At least this way I don't have to have the car bring torn apart to fit the system.

I'm trying to get more info from my dealer. I was quoted bit over $1k including installation. Only thing is, if it is the helix one, then I lose the spare wheel which I don't want.
I need more info. I also don't want to gut the car in retro fitting dynaudio.

                          • word is you can still fit the tyre if its one of those skinny ones and you put the spare cover in the top position, .I think they (VW) have discontinued that model Helix and are now selling the unit that is a long box that fits in the boot. I purchased one and they sound fantastic, its an easy DIY job and only takes a couple of hours. You do need to program the box ,VW say its predone for a golf 4 door but mine was set for a Jetta, after trying all the settings I went with 13 which is for a Polo !

                            • Links for both plug n play sound systems with installation instructions, and euro pricing.

have to match up the english instruction with the pictures in the german instruction
