Personally, matte black but out of those choices get the gloss just because I found my stock stainless ones looking gross after weeks.

        • Hi all,

Has anyone found a decent supplier - or somewhere to buy OEM - of metal scuff plates for the boot lip of the Mk7 Golf? I had one on my Polo and it was great, would love to get it on my Golf. Can’t see anything on VW Australia’s website.

          Cheers,
          Michael

This looks awesome, and I'd love to have something that can capture 0-100km for my MK7 Golf R. Where did you get this from and how much did it cost?

Any other recommendations from those with the Golf R as to accessories to get? My dad has the A45 AMG and he's done a few small cosmetic things to it and it looks awesome...unfortunately he has bragging rights on sheer acceleration

I recommend this as well.I have one and love the functions. Best place after research is just go direct from p3cars.com
Your dad wont have bragging rights if you get a tune. I constantly do 3.7 0-100km/hr with LC and 4.2/4.3 without.

I got this one on ebay from a US dealer. Fits like a glove!
Got one for my wife's Tiguan too.

                • S2T DSG Paddle Shifters for mk7 Golf R

I hated the stock paddle shifters in my new mk7 Golf R. They felt a bit like clicking a mouse button, and in no way looked or felt inviting to play with. It just didnt seem right that such a cheap plastic part is used to control such ferocity.

So in a moment of failed financial sensibility i ordered a set of silver anodised S2T VW DSG Paddle Shifters from here:

                  VW

I received them a few weeks later and was going to install them myself, but ended up getting Euro Car Upgrades in Maroochydore install them when i was getting them to put in the VW plug and play sound system i had ordered.

The ones i received seem significantly different to the ones pictured, and are obviously an updated model, as some reviews criticised the clearance between the shifters and the control stalks, where the ones i received have great clearance. I can not imagine bumping them or the stalks inadvertently. The older ones have a raised ridge on the back of them. The new design has a small finger gripping groove running down the back, that is great to rest your fingers in. They also seem to sit further inboard of the wheel rim (they are still very easy to reach).

They look awesome, and have added far more to the look and feel of the steering wheel than i thought they would. They have that cold metal feel, and the silver stands out beautifully from the piano black of the rest of the wheel.

In short, when i initially ordered them i thought that it was borderline foolish to spend $225USD + freight on a part that works just the same as the OEM ones, but i would not hesitate for a second in getting them next time around.

They just add that element of Porsche/Ferrari/Lambo drama to the steering wheel, and in the very sensible, dark, germanic interior that the Golf R has, it significantly adds to the feel of the car.

Money well spent IMHO. Do it, you will not regret it!

                      • Hi Team

Has anyone seen the below floor mats kicking around around in a RHD version? I went into a VW dealer the other day but they only knew of the mats with a much smaller Golf motif.

And if anyone knows a particular supplier of high quality Golf floor mats (genuine or aftermarket) please share it.

                        Thanks!

I received the item after about 10 days and am very glad to be surprised by the quality of the pedals!

Comparison of the alloy vs standard brake pedal

The footrest had some minor blemishes, this doesn't bother me as you can't see them unless you like operating the pedals with your forehead.

Fitment of the brake and accelerator pedals were perfect. I decided to muck around to see how the foot rest could be used, as these sets are for LHD vehicles.
The foot rest has plenty of tabs on the side and rear, I used some trusty kitchen scissors (as I didn't really have any proper tools at home) to trim the tabs off

Using blue tack I tested out different placements and found the middle of the foot rest the best place (felt the most solid and easy removal of floor mats for cleaning). The photo from the seat cushion showing the foot rest looks out of place in all of the positions I tried (top, middle, bottom - I couldn't post more than 20 pics in this post so only left in the middle position). I think they look OEM when you're standing at the driver's door looking into the footwell.

I cut out cardboard pieces to ensure a flatter surface at the rear to attach double sided tape.

I'll update how the footrest goes over time but at the moment I'm extremely happy with this pedal set! Overall I'd definitely recommend this eBay seller for such great pedals at an awesome price!

Hopefully by now you have found this? If not then here it is

Anyone got a roof box for their MK7? If so what brand/size did you go for? Does it interfere with the boot?

I do a bit of snowboarding and have been looking at the roof boxes for a while. Previously I've just used universal locking arms on my subaru but thought I'd look at my options this time round with the GTI.
