        • I'm still struggling to find wheels that I like on LSG. I lean towards gloss black wheels, but they somehow look dirty the car. Have you seen any that look particularly good?

I think gloss black does work well with LSG - one of the few colors that I still rate black wheels with.. funny how trends change.

One way to provide more definition to a black wheel is with a polished lip, as per this admittedly non-Golf, non LSG example I happened to have on file:

This translates to Mk7 something like:

That does require an aggressive drop to look right though IMO.

Surprisingly you can also consider bronze:

Pretorias are a great OEM upgrade, and while I have said early in this thread that LSG plus gloss black Pretorias are yum, I reckon the standard finish shows the wheel off much better:

            • Thanks for the suggestions. I suppose like LSG, it needs to be seen in the flesh to really be appreciated. Photos just don't seem to do the colour justice, and so far I've only seen Cadiz on LSG 'in real life'.
I also rate the black Pretorias, and I'm keen to explore the bronze idea. Thanks

              • I've grown to accept the Cadiz but if I had an R I'd be sorely tempted to swap them over.

I was considering the R wagon when it was announced and was leaning towards LSG..

Agree that it's hard to capture the look of wheels in a photo as lighting can play a big part particularly a wheel with a lot of surfaces/different angles. If you're going to change wheels you want it to be an upgrade in my opinion otherwise it can make the car look worse/cheaper. Keep in mind that the replacement cost of stock wheels is in the order of $3-4k so if you're going to spend $1k on a set of aftermarket reps it's probably not going to do the car justice.

I'm sure these have been done before but it's Wednesday and you wanted Limestone grey....

I have featured the car from at least one of those angles, but I was planning on a few new snaps for Wagon Wednesday..

Given that even a reputable set of reps like VMR will set you back $2k I shudder to think what's being sold at the $1k price point, especially when there are wheel AND tyre packages for not much more. Agree 100% on your points tigger.. a cheap set of reps ain't improving any Golf.
