Always a big fan of the CH but unsure if it works on the Mk7, and thinking the silver finish may work better on the darker color. At least on the black CH the stainless lip protector provides some definition to the wheel.

BC Forged wheels are made from forged T6061 aluminium and are made to order to your specifications, so it appears a Golf friendly width and offset can be arranged. Not a cheap option with these wheels around $US4000 but there are some cheaper alternatives. VW INTERLAGOS/TURBINE

OK, I am by no means advocating crimes against good taste by chucking orange wheels on to a white car, so I've toned it down in picture two. These wheels are fitted to some Passat CCs locally, but also appear on European Scirrocos as well. OEMs crop up now and then but reps will be easier and come from numerous sources, and numerous finishes. Even found a set on EBay UK fitted with Falken tyres for $1,250 (excluding shipping and any import costs).

LAMBORGHINI CALLISTO
Specs: 19 x 8.5, ET42, weight tbc
Details: assuming 4 x Gallardo fronts used, rears are 19 x 11, ET55; H&R suspension kit

Nothing like a set of exotic wheels on a Golf. Using genuine wheels won't be cheap, although surprisingly seems to be quite a few odd lots floating around on eBay so tracking down four genuine fronts may be possible, although would require some major work to fit. Also available as reps in more favourable fitments.

KRAFTBERG 'VOSSEN VVSCV3' REPS

Gold on red hmm. Don't know anything about these actual wheels, but the original Vossens look beautiful and come in silver, matte graphite and machined matte black. The 19 x 8.5s do come in ET45 so could be made to fit with a little work and minus that rear end poke! I did a quick calculation and the Vossens would land here with duties/taxes for around $3,300.

These Rotiforms are a custom brushed finish with matte tinted clear centers and brushed low gloss clear lip. The 19 x 9 ET40 will need some work to fit however.

Hopefully some better pictures show up of this or other cars running the OZ ST LMs. I'll admit my bias having fitted them to my Mk6 - I've guessed the specs on this car as these definitely look to be 19s - this won't be a legal fitment. However the 18 x 8 ET48s I had on my Mk6 are fine (although lowered I got front end rub.. fender screw mod probably would have fixed this), you can even go with an OEM sized fitment of 18 x 7.5 ET50 if you like and save a couple of dollars.

Speaking of which if you're after OZ and weighing up the local v overseas options I've found the local option weighing up pretty well still (as it did last year when I bought for my Mk6). PM for further info if desired.

OZ FORMULA HLT

While the above might not be quite legal, as per the ST LMs there are friendly 18 x 7.5 ET50 and 18 x 8 ET48 fitments available. These wheels, finished here in grigio corsa with centre cap, also come with exposed bolts, and a matt black finish with or without centre cap.

VW NOGARO
Specs: 18 x 7.5, ET tbc, weight tbc

The Nogaros are the standard 18 inch option on the European GTD - the 19s option are Santiagos a la GTI. Can't find an offset but would assume somewhere in the 49-51 range in keeping with standard OEM fitment. Not a bad looking wheel but might be tough to track down - not to be confused with TSW Nogaros or Rial Nogaros which are both completely different styles of wheel.

AUDI RS4
Specs: unknown reps

This is a TSI Comfortline running RS4 reps in 18 inch. The design doesn't look too bad on the Mk7 although the arch gap here looks wrong. The original thread on this car suggested it may have still been sitting high due to the transport blocks. Plenty of original and reps options in all kinds of specs on this wheel.

ATS DTC
Specs: 18 x 8.5, ET tbc, weight tbc

Not easy tracking down information on these ones, they have been fitted for use on the VW Castrol Cup cars and won't be a legal fitment on Australian road cars. FYI the series takes in Czech Republic, Germany, Poland, Slovakia and Hungary in tuned Golfs running GTI badging but an R style front bar (the pictured car is a road car, not the race car). For €39k drivers get a maintained vehicle for the seven round 14 race series although it appears they can offset some of that cost be on selling advertising spots on the car.

What is easier to track down is the ATS Racelight wheel which I think looks great, the straight lines should work well with the Mk7 styling. Available in a few finishes, but likely in a very unfriendly and not legal fitment of 18 x 8.5 ET30. Hopefully this comes up in something more useful to the Golfs in the future.

I have much love for these wheels although a new set are probably in the $3,500 range. I've quoted the most friendly fitment in the specs - which could be borderline at 14mm poke per the discussion earlier in this thread (please read); however these pics clearly show a lot more poke so I am guessing they've fitted the ET40 wheels (they also do an ET32 in 5x112 PCD). These wheels are also running the BBS stainless lip protector which perhaps adds to the poke look.

AMG Y SPOKE FORGED
Specs: 19 x 8, ET45, weight tbc
Other: 5x112 PCD, also a 19 x 9, ET54

These bad boys are fitted to the AMG C63 507 Edition and their straight line Y spoke would quite likely suit the Mk7 styling. As a bonus they'd be a decent fitment too - the 19 x 8s are only a 10mm poke off stock. Finding a (genuine) set would not be easy though..

Well you learn something new each day. I'd never seen these wheels before - from what I gather they came on US ED35 Mk6s at least as a 19 inch option, and also made an appearance on Canadian Mk6 Rs.

These do remind me a little of the Oettingers that Guy posted previously, and as OEM wheels shouldn't be hard to source from overseas. However given these wheels are actually going to poke 2mm less than Austins they're going to 'disappear' once you drop the height - which explains the wheel spacers being used here, but keep in mind this is not legal in Australia.

OZ ULTRALEGGERA HLT

The OZ Ultraleggeras are an old classic - in HLT matt black as pictured, or a variety of other colors (including green and orange). The HLTs come in 19 and 20 inch sizes. You can also opt for smaller standard Ultraleggeras in 18 x 7.5 ET50 'OEM' size or slightly wider 18 x 8 ET45. As with other OZ, these can be imported or sourced locally, PM for details if interested.

This appeared at the New York show in April, unsure on what the wheels are but looks pretty smart!

Edit: these are VW Luxor wheels, 19 x 7.5, offset unknown but assume around 50 - looks to be a Golf option in some countries and also makes an appearance on sport versions of the US Passat.

Tasty. These look like an OEM fit so I've assumed the specs above, but these wheels come in more aggressive fitments as well.

These are MTMs trademark wheels in a variety of sizes, widths and offsets specifically for VAG vehicles - so something suitable should be possible. Looks similar to an OZ Ultraleggera.

The Salvador is fitted to Golfs with the R-Line option in Europe - assume the same applies here? Would guess they'd be around an offset of 50 - make that ET51 confirmed. Can be bought new from Germany but around $2,000, would be cheaper options available or possibly dealers bringing them in for less.

OXIGIN CONCAVE BLACK

Haven't really heard much about this German brand until I came across these pics, the car also had a vinyl wrap on the roof, proving that a black and white theme will still work just as well on the Mk7 as ever before. These would set you back around $1,300 plus freight, duties and taxes ex the UK.

That's a lot of wheel and very little rubber. These are the originals of the reps posted here: http://www.vwwatercooled.com/forums/...ml#post1051329 . Seems to be some conflicting information on the offsets, needless to say you may have some issues with fitment without some work to make it legal. As stated before the Vossens don't come cheap, but they are a clean quality wheel.

ENKEI RS05-RR

Another wheel I hadn't seen before, the Ispiri is a UK brand with some fairly aggressive wheel fitments - the above seems about as close to legal fitment as you'll get - without some work you'll be outside the guards. Nice looking range of wheels though, BMA Autosports which a few VWW people have used in the past with success are a dealer, a set of four of these are around $1,000 before freight, duties and taxes (on special).

NEUSPEED RANGE

The Neuspeeds have a big following in the USA but due to lack of support in Australia are rarely seen. By all accounts a quality lightweight wheel at pretty reasonable pricing. There is an ongoing group buy at: GROUP BUY: NEUSPEED RIMS: 17” RSe05; 18” RSe12 and 19” RSe14 – Multiple Finishes - VW GTI MKVI Forum / VW Golf R Forum / VW Golf MKVI Forum / VW GTI Forum - Golfmk6.com so check the details there if interested. I was looking at the RSe12s, thus the computer generated pic above on CSG, as an 18 x 8 ET45 alternative to the VMR 710s. Price was $988USD for a set, the downer was a freight quote of $550USD - if that could be reduced a bit then a set of these could be landed here for $2k.

VMR WHEELS

A long time cheap favourite for Aussies and the USA in particular. As the Mk7 isn't released yet in the USA I've just grabbed a photoshop from www.golfmk7.com that someone prepared which gives an idea on a few favourites - although wont show any potential poke issues.

Fair to say everyone is very familiar with the V710 look, although on Mk7 I think I'd like to see the V810 forged mesh design, the V703 or the Audi-like V708. The V702 with its straight lines would also work - has a touch of the VW Omanyt about it.

If you are keen on the V710 mesh then it might be worth checking out the Neuspeed thread above - the RSe12 in 18 inch and RSe14 in 19 inch are similar in looks but carry an x8 width which will cause less issues, and by all accounts are a lighter and stronger wheel.

AUDI A8
Specs: 20 x 9, ET37, weight tbc

A heavily lowered/worked Mk7 snapped at Woerthersee 2013 running Audi A8 20 inch wheels (possibly circa 2011 4.2 Qattro). I actually really like the look of these wheels on the Mk7, but these would be rare wheels at the best of times - might need some luck on eBay or hunt for reps.

Want BBS wheels but think you can't afford them? Think again, as these wheels are a lot less than the usual asking price - around $2k. The downside is they're quite heavy (but no worse than OEM) and while primarily designed by BBS as a winter wheel they are being used in standard applications as well. They do come in a 17 inch version, and also a bigger 19 x 8.5 ET46, and are finished in either anthracite or polished silver.

MTM BIMOTO
Specs: 19 x 8.5, ET50, weight tbc
Other: ST Suspension XTA coil overs (made by KW)

Loving the look of these wheels on this car, although I am partial to grey wheels on red cars. A high quality rim designed for the Golfs with a favourable offset but priced on the premium end - €1877 from MTM at the time of writing excluding freight, duties and tax.

KESKIN KT15
Specs: 19 x 8.5, ET45, weight tbc
Other: KW V2 coil overs and fender extension kit (2.5cm) fitted

Big polished rims on a blue Golf work well, and these German made Keskins look the goods. With the coil overs and fender extension kit these wheels are tucking nicely - definitely one solution to getting around the poke issue. They are available from a few sources overseas for around £800 a set before freight, duties and taxes.

3SDM style 0.01
Spec: 18 x 8.5 ET45

A little more black on white:

This is the 3SDM style 0.01, in this instance 18 x 8.5 ET45, fitted with 225/40 rubber. You can find these and the rest of the 3SDM range at forum sponsor ECS Tuning - $1000USD plus freight, duties and taxes.

A black mesh design from Cruize wheels, not much info on these guys available but they're on the budget end - plenty of similar wheels available in this style priced to suit your budget.

OZ LEGGERA HLT
Specs: 18 x 8, ET48, weight tbc

One of OZ's brand new wheels for 2014 and one I decided to chuck on to my GTI. I'm very happy with the outcome, I think the design works well on the car and is aggressive without being over the top. The 'grigio corsa bright' finish is spot on to, its translation of bright race grey pretty much sums it up - it's not anthracite, and not silver, but pretty much a mix of both. The wheel also comes in 19 inch fitment, PM me for local purchase details if desired.

I also realise the look would be finished off with a small drop, but I am loathe to mess with the Mk7's ride and handling at this point.

CADIZ BLACK
Specs: 19 x 8, ET50, weight tbc (original); 18 x 7.5, ET45, weight tbc (reps)

By all accounts this could turn into a popular modification on the Rs, or for people wanting an OEM look for other Golfs. The blue R is finished off in a gloss black and I think suits the R carrying on from the black Talladegas look from the Mk6. I wouldn't mind seeing these wheels up close however, from some views they just end up looking like 'clogged' Talladegas.

The reps are fitted to tomcat225's black TDI (his photo/build thread can be viewed here: http://www.vwwatercooled.com/forums/...tdi-96978.html They're finished off in a matte black which is in contrast to the gloss black paint finish on the car and seems to show the wheel detail better. tomcat225 picked these up locally for a smidge under $200/corner. Note the car is also lowered on Eibach springs.

If anyone locally decides to paint their Cadiz black please post up the pics for reference, although as I have suggested elsewhere I'd probably recommend going the plastidip route first and trialling gloss v matte before committing to coating an OEM wheel.

Due to chunky straight lines these will work quite well on the Mk7 as an OEM alternative.

Yes a second revisit in a day, but given the 'Golf 7 Light Tron' was probably the best show Golf going around when the Mk7 came out its worth a look. Plus the SNA wheels just look great on the Golf. The cast versions are fairly cheap, but if you're going forged prepare for a big spend: â€¢|â€¢ Rotiform Wheels â€¢|â€¢ I don't care, I might just look at these one day. Plus I think it's cool an airbagged car belongs to Hansjurgen Windpassinger, and glows in the dark. Is their an ADR for this locally?

CARACTERE CW1
Specs: 19 x 8.5, ET50, weight tbc

Belgian tuner Caractere have produced a styling kit for the Mk7 and fitted it with their CW1 wheels which come in the listed specs as well as a smaller 18 x 8 ET50 but they're not cheap - about $2800 for the 18s and $3800 for the 19s plus freight, duties and taxes. If you're seeking this look, and maintaining the same Mk7 friendly fitment then why not a similar wheel that is a lot cheaper and Audi OEM?

The new S3 wheels look similar but the straight edged centre of the spokes suit the Mk7 styling more. In 18 x 7.5 ET51 sizing second hand stock is floating around.

AUDI RS4 ROTORS

South African firm VAG Motorsport prepared these renderings for a client who was fitting the ABT bodywork kit to their Mk7 and Audi RS4 5 spoke rotors. This gives a reasonable idea how they'd work with the Mk7 styling, and while OEM wheels do come up second hand this is also a very common replica wheel available from any number of discount shops locally.

As always I need to admit my bias towards OZ but this looks like a great alternative to OEM Pretorias. In 20 inch HLT sizing these aren't as cheap as normal Ultraleggeras - looking at just over $4k for this set up locally.

Hot off the press from Worthersee is the oddly named Golf Variant Youngster 5000 - named after the ipad controlled 5000 watt sound system installed in the rear. The gloss black wheels pop with the orange paintwork. I'll update the specs once more information comes to hand, but my best guess is these might be BBS CH-Rs repainted, given the BBS style Motorsport print around the hub and the design of the wheel itself. I have seen online some CH-Rs without the small holes between the bolts which is how these have been finished off. Feel free to chip in if you find out.

BE Wheels by Breyton, another alternative for those that like this sort of design, made in Germany for VAG fitment so while I haven't located the ETs I'd be pretty sure they'd be good to go. Note there is an 18 x 8 option, as well as 17 x 8, and silver, matte black and anthracite finishes. Spotted on a UK site for around $1,500 AUD excluding freight, duties and taxes.

These Prodrives look a little like Audi RS4 wheels (well in silver they would, in black this ends up looking more like a Talladega at first glance) and are a forged monoblock construction. They come in a variety of sizes and fitments that are Euro friendly including 18 x 7.5 ET50 and 19 x 8 ET50 OEM style, as well as x 8.5 ET50 fitments in both sizes as well. They list at around $850 AUD per wheel on the Prodrive site, obviously finding a distributor and adding freight, duties and taxes may push this into a four figure per corner deal.

Not feeling this design or finish on the Mk7 but someone might. Unsure on the specs on this wheel as they're not 19s but according to Dotz the best Golf fitment is only as a 19x8 ET45, so assuming perhaps a 5/120 to 5/112 adapter used for a 18x8 ET45 wheel. These wheels are available in a polished silver finish, as well as the red face shown here and a Kermit the Frog green finish and are around $1,600 a set ex UK before freight, duties and taxes. At current height which was a 30mm drop no issues with rubbing even with 4 passengers , wheel offset is et 45 which seems to be a nice fit for the 7, it appears that the mk7 has more room for larger fitments.

I must say though the finish has surprised me they are very bright, no spigots to fit(very oe) but unfortunately the oe vw wheel centre caps don't fit but no problem as I've sourced some if a want them. For the price I paid for these I'm happy with the quality and weight though on my dodgy bathroom scales they came out at 23lbs but the combined weight of one wheel and tyre is 2.5 lbs lighter than the 18" oe set up so not bad jumping up a size.

Still not sure if I've made the right decision yet, I do like the design and colour of this alloy and the front tuck/poke is what I wanted it's just to me anyway at the moment they don't look like 19"? It isn't perfect (it's selling for 1600 Turkish Lira though, only $800 odd) but looks reasonable. Arguably the smaller and closer spaced quad pipes work better than on the R as well.

Been meaning to add this update in for a while but never got around to it - a look at the various R wheels.

Commentary from VWVortex user John@Roc-Euro: 15mm spacers out back and an extra bit of camber to not rub (hard bumps, still do a touch, would think 12mm spacers = ideal) and none up front, but I'm going to change that. I'd wager, for those inclined, that 19x8.5 ET35 would fit flawlessly. Time to utilize other fitments.

Keep in mind there is a fair bit of suspension work going on here and the USA guys generally are far more aggressive in their fitments - the above shouldn't be taken as legal here (and certainly with spacers it won't be).

Also worth noting these wheels are a variation of the Euromesh 4-GS previously shown in this thread.

In isolation these wheels aren't one of my favourite BBS designs - they look a little Falcodore - but fitted they look pretty decent actually. From some angles almost a touch of OEM. Which is interesting as they do have some resemblance to an Audi design and a number of cars that pop up upon searching the XA are A3/S3s.

However in execution I'm not totally sold on the look now, while they do have a sports/luxury/OEM feel about them I think they are better suited to Euro sedans. These are a marked improvement over Santiagos actually - if the PP had these I think we'd find something resembling popularity for them.
