New wheel post coming up. Will update with much better pics shortly, just some really bad and blurred phone pics to open with. Very happy with the results, the style and finish have come out better than I hoped. Me and my work colleague both had our wheels done at the same time on Friday so we definitely lifted the car park (his being the gold Ultraleggeras on a similar colored WRX).

One of OZ's brand new wheels for 2014 and one I decided to chuck on to my GTI. I'm very happy with the outcome, I think the design works well on the car and is aggressive without being over the top. The 'grigio corsa bright' finish is spot on to, its translation of bright race grey pretty much sums it up - it's not anthracite, and not silver, but pretty much a mix of both. The wheel also comes in 19 inch fitment, PM me for local purchase details if desired.
I also realise the look would be finished off with a small drop, but I am loathe to mess with the Mk7's ride and handling at this point.

CADIZ BLACK
Specs: 19 x 8, ET50, weight tbc (original); 18 x 7.5, ET45, weight tbc (reps)
By all accounts this could turn into a popular modification on the Rs, or for people wanting an OEM look for other Golfs. The blue R is finished off in a gloss black and I think suits the R carrying on from the black Talladegas look from the Mk6. I wouldn't mind seeing these wheels up close however, from some views they just end up looking like 'clogged' Talladegas.
The reps are fitted to tomcat225's black TDI (his photo/build thread can be viewed here: http://www.vwwatercooled.com/forums/...tdi-96978.html They're finished off in a matte black which is in contrast to the gloss black paint finish on the car and seems to show the wheel detail better. tomcat225 picked these up locally for a smidge under $200/corner. Note the car is also lowered on Eibach springs.
If anyone locally decides to paint their Cadiz black please post up the pics for reference, although as I have suggested elsewhere I'd probably recommend going the plastidip route first and trialling gloss v matte before committing to coating an OEM wheel.

Agreed... The ride in the mk7 is fantastic. Would hate to tinker with it.

This Golf is wearing some OZs in white, not 100% sure what they are, but you can pick up near identical Superturismo WRCs in a range of sizes from 14 to 18 inch (18 x 7 only though), although I'd suggest looking at silver, black or graphite Superturismos or Superturismo LMs which come in the 18-19 inch range.
This Golf appears to be running some Porsche wheels, a quick search indicates they may be off 06-07 Caymans in 19 inch.
And apparently if you love the Martini livery, you can acquire some racing stripes for your bonnet and roof on EBay.

Hey Dutch I forgot to ask... Did the Oz “Legs” fit the same tyres as the stock wheels or did you have to get tyres as well?
Yes, used the same tyres. 225/40 is fine on the x 8s, it actually looks a little better - once you fit them to x 8.5 you then start to see the stretch look.

The VW Watkins Glen was fitted to the Mk6 ED35 GTI in Australia, and is commonly referred to as the Laguna in the USA. There are plenty of reps versions of these floating around in various finishes from polished through to matte black. Due to chunky straight lines these will work quite well on the Mk7 as an OEM alternative.
