Perhaps they're widened fenders along with rolled guards and fender screw mod (of the mk7 has it). I'm pretty surprised too haha

    • 5 spokes seems to suit the Mk7 well.

Back looks stock to be honest, front I can't say if it has wide fender kit

I'm not very good at judging if fenders are widened if it's subtle so I trust you'll know it better. No idea how this fits other than wide fenders though. It's only just tucked in, but it is tucked somehow

          • My take.

Firstly, those wheel specs might not be spot on. I couldn't locate any 5 x 112 fitments, but was able to find some alternate PCDs in 20 inch size, the most 'favourable' of which was 20 x 9, ET30. The pics confirmed they were 20s and the wheel model, but did not discuss specs or other mods.

Secondly, while it would take a brave soul to start shaving the hub of a low cost wheel, it's always possible it was done to raise the offset somewhat.

Thirdly, obviously this car has been heavily lowered so has gained some tuck from camber, although the wheels don't look heavily cambered.

Finally, in flicking back and forth between stock cars and this one, in my opinion these fenders do seem to be wider than stock. The front could have a widening kit as per much earlier in this thread; the rears might just be rolled from stock.

            They're my best guesses.

The good news is the Vossen CV3 comes in 19 x 8.5 ET45 and 20 x 8.5 ET44 which are both much more workable.

            • Incidentally if rolling your fenders isn't enough, and the widening kit doesn't cut it, you can always kick it up a notch:

              • I'm guessing they rolled the guards and split it so the said bugger it lets just cut up the front guard and do it properly.

Really? I don't think that's correct. Can anyone else advise, especially owners.

                    • Definitely looks like the ones above are metal 1/4 panels. You wouldn't be able to roll them otherwise - not to mention cutting and spot welding

The front bumper is obviously plastic same as the rear bumper.

Have to check on that one Mikey

I was considering ordering plastic guards from VW though

A classic old school look, but no change from $6k brand new. Last pic is a stretched photoshop I believe.
