I think you'd need to be more like ET40, which is probably more common to in x 9 wheels, but you're then at 25mm poke on a GTI which will definitely require work on the front, and probably the rear as well.
There are cars running as aggressively as that on this thread, just need to invest to make it work.
(Note I know you're not in a GTI but my visuals/measurements are based on my own car so I find it helps me to reference back to that)

Damn i've just jumped the gun.....Bid and won on 5 x genuine Audi rotor wheels... $1200 for the lot. Pretty good considering they go for $1800 each from AudiPAST: 88' Mk2 Golf 16v GTI & 97' Mk3 Golf VR6

I was going to ask if they were Audi wheels, some of the few that have the high offset.
Can always try a test fit given you've already 'got them' but I reckon there will be clearance issues.
On the plus side it shouldn't be hard to get your money back on them in a resale.

Thought i'd ask on here again...... 18" x 7.5" et45 will this work with a 35mm drop without any rub issues to the outside of the arches? I'm thinking this should be more than ok but would like to double check.

They are a lot heavier as they have to support the load rating of the ute (2.5 Tonne i believe)
Guy from APR weighed his stock amarok wheels with tyres at 35-40kg per corner.
